The European Tour now moves to Denmark and the newly named Danish Golf Championship, which this year will be help at a new venue. The Lübker Golf Resort is home to one of the top-rated championship golf courses in Denmark. The venue is a 27-hole parkland layout, comprising of three loops of nine named Sky, Sand and Forest.
The venue was five years in the making and opened to much acclaim by Danish golfers. The Robert Trent Jones-designed golf complex is the centrepiece of a 500-acre estate and contains a wealth of wonderfully crafted, memorable and challenging holes.
Robert Trent Jones lead architect Bruce Charlton used a number of bold bunkering styles throughout the courses but the most challenging design features here are the heavily contoured greens and aprons.
The layout embraces a mix of tree-lined holes, with others played in a more open environment. Expansive use of those bold bunkering styles add definition to the holes, most of which are laid out on not overly undulating terrain. There are plenty of width to the fairways and have wetland areas in play.
There are a diverse set of challenges for the players this week, including lakes, bunkers, waste areas and those fast heavily contoured greens. The holes occupy their own natural space, which creates a diverse and different backdrop to each hole.

My tips to Win:
It was a case of which Hojgaard brother to pick for this week to perform in front of home support and I have gone for defending champion Rasmus Hojgaard 12/1 – with Bet365
I don’t like the fact that Bernd Wiesberger 20/1 – with Bet365 – is playing back on the European Tour, but you can’t ignore the fact that he has won this event twice although at a different venue and comes into this week on the back of three Top 10 finishes including a runner-up at the European Open in his last six starts and has only been outside the Top 25 twice in his last nine starts
I am going to stick with Richard Mansell 22/1 – with Bet365 – while he is still waiting to notch up his first European Tour victory. Richard comes into this week on the back of two Top 10 finishes in his last three starts and I feel Mansell is again finding the form that see him start the season with seven Top 25 finishes from his first seven starts.
Each-way tips:
After starting the season so well with four Top 20 finishes from his first four starts, three of which were Top 5s Frederic Lacroix 33/1 – with BetVictor – went totally off the boil. But two Top 20 finishes in his last two starts one of which was his third-place finish at the weekend, hopefully sees the Frenchman back to his best and challenging again this week
Outside tips:
Stepping up from the Challenge Tour after having a third-place finish followed by a win in his last two starts Brandon Robinson Thompson 80/1 – with UniBet – took to the main tour like a duck to water and brought that form with him to take sixth-place at the D+D REAL Czech Masters at the weekend. The question is will he be able to continue that form into this week and at these odds he has to be worth a pound each-way punt
I am going to stick with Ross Fisher 80/1 – with SportingIndex – again this week after making his second Top 15 finish in his last two starts and his fifth Top 25 finish in his last six starts. Ross has two Top 10 finishes at this event in his last three starts here and although they were at a different venue I expect him to be back challenging again this week
Three Top 10 finishes fro his last three starts on the Challenge Tour, Lucas Bjerregaard 90/1 – with UniBet – will be arriving here with his golf game in great shape playing in front of a partisan crowd
