Above is the 15th hole on the Teeth of the Dog course The Dominican Republic’s Casa de Campo was named Golf Resort of the Year by IAGTO at tonight’s 15th annual awards ceremony in Lake Como, Italy.
We had the pleasure of staying at Casa De Campo not long after the votes had been counted and managed to grab an interview with the resorts Chief Sales Manager Peter Bonell.
The awards are voted by specialist golf tour operators from 62 different nations, making in this one of the most prestige’s award in the golf travel industry. Casa de Campo’s “Teeth of the Dog” is regularly voted in the worlds Top 50 courses, but the resort has 4 other courses along with world-class facilities for Tennis, Polo and shooting. Add in the first class spa and sports therapy centre, the La Casita restaurant at the marina and New York’s famous Le Cirque restaurant owners the Maccioni family opening up The Beach Club by Le Cirque, and you can see why Casa de Campo has won this years award.
