There is a reason why Adams Golf hybrid clubs are now regarded as the best-designed hybrids on the market and the dominant brand of their kind when it comes to the professional ranks on the major tours around the world.

So when I was given the chance to take the new Pro hybrid with me to Florida I jumped at the chance. What I like about Adams is the R&D that goes into their clubs – not just to benefit the pros but all levels of golfers, and this shines through when their Director of Global Product management recently stated: “We refined the playability through numerous iterations so all players, from PGA Tour stars to recreational golfers, can replace their current hybrids with these easy-to-hit models.”

Technology:

The Pro hybrid incorporates the Velocity Slot Technology on the crown and Cut-Thru Slot technology on the sole. Working with a centre-of-gravity which has been placed behind the centre of the face not only helps you get the ball airborne quickly with a penetrating flight but also gives you plenty of forgiveness.

The Pro hybrid also has a ultra-thin face, giving plenty of flexion at impact and putting all the power you have created during your swing into the back of the ball.

Adams have used their upside-down head shaping with its high MOI, giving a more consistent contact for golfers of all abilities, and it comes in five different loft options complemented by Aldila’s Tour Red shaft.

Conclusion:

Once again Adams have come up with the goods – so much so I think they are becoming a major player in golf equipment. The upside-down head does look strange but you can’t argue with the results. This was part of my line-up on my Florida trip and it coped with everything thrown at it – from that tight Bermuda grass to normal rough and a few 200-yard bunker shots along the way.

I also found it a perfect club for the longer par-3 due to its consistent strike and feel, and I was happy to find that I could produce a boring punch shot with it when needed during some stormy Floridian weather.

Hybrids have become a big part of a golfer’s armory and Adams are the guys at the moment showing the way. If you don’t carry a hybrid, you should. I would certainly recommend you put the Adams Pro Hybrid on your testing list. It has everything and will certainly improve your scoring ability.
