| Firstly, congratulations to Dustin Johnson on his Masters victory and also to those of you who have contacted us who had a double with our outside tip Cameron Smith at 100/1, all seven tips making the cut and three in the Top 10 including the winner and runner-up was a great week for us as well. The PGA Tour now moves to the famed Harry Colt and Charles Alison designed Seaside Course at the Sea Island resort. Tom Fazio updated the course back in 1999 and not long after it entered Golf Digest’s list of Top 100 Courses.
Tour golf is not the only claim to fame of the Sea Island resort, the G8 held one of its summits here back in 2004. Sea Island’s story is a fascinating look at America’s past. Howard Coffin founded Sea Island Investments back in 1926. Coffin was founder of the Hudson Motor Company and designed the original Hudson Motor Car, one of the first mass produced motorcars, which sold for less than $1000.
Coffin and his young cousin, A.W. Jones, worked to make Coffin’s dream of a seaside oasis come true. In late 1928, The Cloister at Sea Island was born, it was designed in the Spanish style of Palm Beach architect Addison Mizner and their first course to be built at Sea Island was the Walter Travis, Plantation Course. Situated on the historic Retreat Plantation on St. Simons Island, the course opened in the summer of 1927 and quickly gained popularity.
There are not many true links courses in North American but the Colt and Alison Seaside course design is one of the rare few and rightly holds a place in American golf course history and recently moved up 111 place to 76th in the worlds top 250 courses.

My tips to Win:
I am sure Webb Simpson 10/1 – with WilliamHill – will be the bookies favourite this week – as I write this guide the odds aren’t out yet – but a Top 10 finish at The Masters and not being outside the Top 17 in his four starts so far on the new wraparound season shows Webb’s game is in a great place. Simpson has two runner-up finishes in this event, one of which was last year and I feel he will be the man to beat this week.
After his runner-up finish at The Masters Sung Jae Im 22/1 – with Ladbrokes – will be in buoyant mood after firing a final round 69 on a tough day. Sung Jae had slightly gone off the boil and to be honest I am not surprised due to his non-stop schedule of playing every week, but he just loves teeing it up and competing, no doubt he will be in the thick of it again this week.
Each-way tips:
I am sure Sebastián Muñoz 40/1 – with UniBet – will have been disappointed with his final round at The Masters on Sunday but once the dust has settled he will take the positives that he put himself in a great position in the Top 10 going into that final round. Sebastián had a third-place finish here last year and with three Top 20 finishes from his last three starts he will be in confident mood this week.
Having been a past winner of this event and with three other Top 10s including two Top 5s I think these are great odds for Kevin Kisner 40/1 – with BetFred – even though he hasn’t started the new wraparound season that well.
Another past champion of this event is Charles Howell lll 80/1 – with SportingBet – who won here two years ago and also has four other Top 15 finishes three of which are Top 10s. This year hasn’t been that great for Charles who had some Top 10 finishes earlier in the year, but being back here will only bring back positive thoughts and I feel he is a good bet at these odds.
Outside tip:
With a runner-up and a Top 5 finish from his five starts in this event and it seems the Sea Island Resort suits Henrik Norlander 110/1 – with OddsChecker – eye and although he has missed four cuts from his six starts on the new wraparound season he did have a Top 5 at the Sanderson Farms Championship, which shows when he feels comfortable the lad can challenge and he certainly feels comfortable at Sea Island
Longer odds:
Try Chris Kirk 160/1 – with OddsChecker
As always good luck
