| As the new wraparound season starts to take shape the tour now moves to TPC Summerlin in Las Vegas for the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open.
Designed by Bobby Weed with input from Fuzzy Zoeller, the 7,223-yard opened for play in November 1991 and was built in the heart of Summerlin, a 22,000-acre planned community on the western-most edge of Las Vegas, it incorporates traditional golf design with the natural desert terrain of the region.
As a stadium course, the TPC Summerlin was built to accommodate golfing fans with unrestricted views of tee shots, fairway approaches and putting, by using strategically placed spectator mounds and natural amphitheatres.

My tips to Win:
I am sure Bryson DeChambeau 15/2 – with WilliamHill – has been on cloud nine over the last couple of weeks, but he would have still been keeping up his workout regime with an eye on the Masters in November and this week probably starts his preparation for that Major. Bryson won this event two years ago and defend his title with a Top 5 finish and has another Top 10 finish from his four starts here. It’s obviously a course he enjoys playing and I bet he can’t wait to unleash his new power-game over the TPC Summerlin track.
Webb Simpson 12/1 – with SportingBet – won this event back in 2014 and has six other Top 20 finishes, four of which are Top 10s. Webb already has two wins this year and finished the FedEx play-off run in with three Top 12 finishes and followed that up with a Top 10 at the US Open. Simpson is in great form coming back to a course that he enjoys teeing it up on and I expect him to be in one of the final pairings come Sunday.
With a win and two runner-up finishes in the last three years to say Patrick Cantlay 18/1 – with Ladbrokes – enjoys teeing it up at TPC Summerlin would be somewhat of an understatement. Patrick didn’t have a win on last year’s wraparound season and although he did have seven Top 25 finishes from his twelve starts I am sure he will want to be tasting victory again very soon and what better place to start than here this week.
Each-way tips:
I have to say I was quite surprised my next two picks were this far down the betting odds, but then that’s all the better should they perform as expected this week. First up is the defending champion Kevin Na 70/1 – with OddsChecker – and as I have said before, no matter how badly someone is playing they always like to put in a good defence of a title and I expect no different from Kevin this week.
After his weekend’s performance at the Sanderson Farms Championship I am sure Cameron Smith 80/1 – with SportingBet – can’t wait to get back out there and compete this week. Let’s not forget that Cameron shot rounds of 66 and 63 to put him in a good position going into Sunday and he has won not just on the PGA Tour, but also has two Australian PGA Championship titles to his name and has two Top 15 finishes from his two starts here and I believe these are fantastic odds for the Australian.
Outside tip:
Another player that should be in buoyant mood after his third-place finish at the weekend is JT Poston 90/1 – with BetFred – JT started the rearranged season well with two Top 10 finishes at the Charles Schwab and RBC Heritage but then just fell away. I am sure he has put that behind him and has got the new wraparound season off to a good start. He may have three missed cuts in this event from his four starts but his other finish was a fourth-place and if he takes the confidence from last week’s performance these could be very good odds for the North Carolinian.
Longer odds:
Try Maverick McNealy 150/1 – with WilliamHill
As always good luck
