Firstly another amazing Masters and congratulations to Rory McIlroy on winning his first green jacket and becoming only the sixth player in history to complete golfs Grand Slam.
The European Tour stays east and moves from India to China for this week's reinstated Volvo China Open, which had been missing from the European tour schedule since 2019 and the outbreak of COVID in 2020. This will be the third time the tournament is being played over the Hidden Grace Golf Club, formally known as Genzon Golf Club and originally known as the CITIC Green Golf Club and designed by Leung Kwok Kun.
Opened in 1994 and situated a few miles outside of Shenzhen, the CITIC Green Golf Club used to be part of a botanical garden. The course went through a major re-design that was undertaken by Canadian Neil Haworth and winds its way through a forest and makes good use of Dragon Lake.
Now a 36-hole club, with courses named imaginatively as Course A & B! The manicured greens, perfect bunkers, limited membership and 5 star hotel add to the clubs ambition of being one of the most exclusive golf clubs in China, which is a shame for the millions of people in the Shenzhen area who would love to play the game.

My tips to Win:
I am sure Keita Nakajima 20/1 with BetFred has been itching to get back to playing after his runner-up finish defending his title at the Hero Indian Open, which followed on from another runner-up finish at the Singapore Classic
A past champion of this event is Haotong Li 22/1 with BetFred although he won over a different course he did have a fourth-place finish over this course in 2019, which was the last time the event was played before its reinstatement last year. Haotong has already won this year and comes into this week on the back of two Top 20 finishes in his last two starts, one of which was a Top 10 at the Singapore Classic
Coming into this week on the back of three Top 15 finishes is Matthew Jordan 25/1 with BetFred and two of those finishes were Top 10s. Matthew missed the cut here last year, but I expect him to be back challenging again this week
Each-way tip;
A Top 15 finish here last year should see Joost Luiten 33/1 with BetVictor looking forward to teeing it back up here this week. Although I am not sure Joost will have been too pleased with the wait from his third-place finish at the Hero Indian Open three weeks ago to teeing it up now. Lets hope the wait for this event didnt upset his rhythm
Outside tips:
Someone who will be desperate to win on the European Tour is Jacob Skov Olesen 75/1 – with SpreadEx – who for the last few events just been sitting on the reserve list waiting to see if he can get a start. Jacob has two Top 15 finishes in his last two starts and I expect him to be challenging this week now that he is in the starting lineup
You dont normally see the defending champion this far down the betting odds, but the bookies have Adrian Otaegui 80/1 with Bet365 It has not been a great start to the season for Adrian with only two Top 25 finishes from his ten starts, which has seen him miss the cut four times. But Adrian also has a runner-up finish in this event in 2018 and although it was at a different course, he obviously enjoys his time teeing it up in china
