Golf Monthly is the market leading golfing magazine in the UK. It's a lively and welcoming read that is targeted at good golfers who are regular players - and keen to get even better.
With over 100 years of heritage and authority behind it, it represents the real 'voice of golf' with leading columnists, top players and unrivalled coverage of equipment and instruction.
This week sees the return of the Turkish Airlines Open that was last played back in 2019, with the 2020 tournament being cancelled due to the COVID outbreak and wasn’t reinstated until this year. But with a prize fund of USD 2,750,000 it is set to become one of the bigger events on the European Tour this year. The Regnum Carya course in Belek, was designed by Thomson – five times Open Champion Peter – Perrett and Lobb.
The course opened for play in 2008 and has hosted several international tournaments including this event from 2016 - 2018. Weighing in at 7,000 metres – 7,655-yards – this classic heathland design offers naturally cultivated heather – courtesy of the nursery where nearly a million heather plants were grown – and rolling fairways that wind through natural pine, eucalyptus trees, and across undulating sand ridges.
Not only is it regarded for its challenging layout, but also its beautiful scenery, lush fairways, mature trees, and the strategic placement of water features, especially on the 10th and 6th holes. The white sand bunkers and mixture of terrains offer a tough test of golf and there is a premium on being in the right part of the fairway to attack the flags.

My tips to Win:
I am sure Haotong Li 16/1 – with UniBet – will have been disappointed with his finish at the Hainan Classic especially after opening with a 66. But he does have a win this year and has only been outside the Top 25 three times from his nine starts. Haotong has played in this event before over this course and has two runner-up finishes, so I am sure he will be looking forward to being back here this week
A lot of the players I am picking this week seem to have had a mixed time in China and that can be said of Joost Luiten 28/1 – with BetFred – also, although he went from a Top 15 finish at the China Open to missing the cut at the Hainan Classic. Joost went into that leg of the European Tour after a third-place finish at the Indian Open. Luiten has played in this event on this course before with a couple of Top 25 finishes, one where he opened up with a 64 so he will have some very positive memories when arriving here this week
Each-way tips:
Another player that missed the cut at the Hainan Classic was Matthew Jordan 33/1 – with UniBet – in fact he went into the China leg of the tour in great form with three Top 15 finishes from his previous three starts. I feel after the break Matthew will be back to challenging again this week
Slightly understandable that Richard Mansell 50/1 – with BetFred – missed the cut the week after winning at the Singapore Classic. But after a couple of weeks break and that added confidence of having won his first European Tour event, I am sure he will be back in the thick of it this week
Outside tips
With two Top 15 finishes in this event on this course including a third-place finish means Adrian Otaegui 60/1 – with BetFred – will be looking forward to being back in Türkiye this week. Otaegui had a tough few weeks missing four cuts in five starts, but found his game in China with two Top 26 finishes and with being back here I expect him to compete this week
I was surprised to see Jacob Skov Olesen 66/1 – with BetFred – this far down the betting odds. Yes he did miss the cut at the Hainan Classic but he had three Top 15 finishes, including two Top 10s in his previous three starts and I think he will be another player in the heat of the battle come Sunday
