Firstly another amazing Masters and congratulations to Rory McIlroy on winning his first green jacket and becoming only the sixth player in history to complete golfs Grand Slam. The PGA tour now moves to South Carolina and arguably the oldest golf course in the United States, South Carolina Golf Club, which was formed by Scottish merchants in 1786.

Today the resort now boosts three courses and this week’s RBC Heritage is played over the Harbour Town Golf Links. Opened for play in 1969 and designed by Pete Dye in consultation with Jack Nicklaus, Harbour Town Golf Links is recognised as one of America's top courses and is repeatedly selected by the players on the PGA Tour as one of their favorite courses.

The course is a shot makers dream and those who can move the ball and have the imagination and finesse, rather than brute force will be rewarded on this track. The course measures 6,973 yards not the longest by today’s standards but when the wind blows off the Calibogue sound, this course will put the professionals who play here this week to a stern test.

My tips to Win:

This weeks defending champion is Scottie Scheffler 9/2 – with AKBets – and although he hasn’t been playing to his normal level he still managed a Top 5 at The Masters, and has still not been outside the Top 25 in his seven starts this year. That includes his runner-up finish at the Valero Texas Open going into The Masters

A Top 10 finish at The Masters now means Xander Schauffele 16/1 – with AKBets – has had two Top 15 finishes in his last two starts. It is now looking like Xander is less worried about his injury and is able to concentrate on his golf and I expect him to be challenging come Sunday

I am going to stick with Corey Conners 22/1 – with AKBets – again this week and right up until Sunday Corey was in the heat of the battle at Augusta. Unfortunately he couldn’t sustain his challenge, but that now means Conners has only been outside of the Top 25 three times in ten starts and four Top 10 finishes in his last five starts

Each-way tips:

A past champion and also a runner-up in this event is Jordan Spieth 40/1 – with AKBets – and with his Top 15 finish at the Masters that made it his fourth Top 15 of the season with two of those being Top 10s. This is a course Jordan enjoys teeing it up on and I expect him to be in the thick of it come Sunday

Another player that I will be sticking with this week is Denny McCarthy 60/1 – with AKBets – who I am sure will have some mixed feeling about his week at Augusta missing out on a Top 25 finish by a shot. But Denny has five Top 20 finish in his last seven starts and I think these are great odds for the Washingtonian

Outside tip:

A winner of this event two years ago is Matt Fitzpatrick 80/1 – with AKBets – who hasn’t had the greatest of starts to 2025 with only two Top 25 finishes so far this year. But I have a feeling being back here where he used to come with his family when growing up may just be what he needs right now to get his year back on track

Longer odds;

Try Ryan Gerard 150/1 – with Bet365

As always good luck
