Golf Monthly is the market leading golfing magazine in the UK. It's a lively and welcoming read that is targeted at good golfers who are regular players - and keen to get even better.
With over 100 years of heritage and authority behind it, it represents the real 'voice of golf' with leading columnists, top players and unrivalled coverage of equipment and instruction.
The European Tour now moves to India this week for the Hero Indian Open. Teeing up at the Arnold Palmer designed DLF G&CC and one of the highlights of the course is its Golden Eagles that have made this course their home, there is also 41 other varieties of birds.
The undulating course opened for play in 1999 and has water hazards on no less than seven holes, with aqua waiting for any stray shots on all of the final three holes. There is no let up when you get to the greens which have some very interesting complexes and will test the players skills with the flat stick this week.
In 2014 the club acquired some new land and commissioned Gary Player to design nine new holes and redesign nine of the existing Palmer course to come up with a new eighteen-hole layout, which opened for play in October 2015.
The course is designed around two lakes and an old quarry known as the Lake nine and the Quarry nine, it's a tough course from the tips at 7,654 yards featuring an island green on one of the par 3s, it will certainly test every part of your golf game.
No surprise that Keita Nakajima 18/1 – with PaddyPower – is the bookies favourite, not only is he this week’s defending champion, but comes into this week on the back of his runner-up finish at the Porsche Singapore Classic at the weekend and should arrive in confident mood
I am going to stick with Matthew Jordan 25/1 – with AKBets – I am sure he will be disappointed with his final round, but that was his second Top 10 finish in a row and his third of the season. Matthew had a Top 15 finish here last year and I am sure he will improve on that in his current form
Each-way tips:
It looks like Romain Langasque 33/1 – with BetVictor – could be coming back into form after starting the season with runner-up and Top 15 finishes. Romain had a Top 20 finish at the Joburg Open and was a shot out of making it another Top 20 at the weekend. Langasque had a Top 5 finish here last year
Another player I am going to stick with this week is Sam Bairstow 35/1 – with AKBets – and while he would have been disappointed with his two opening rounds at the Porsche Singapore Classic. But he finished well and he went into that event on the back of three Top15 finishes. Sam is another player that had a Top 15 finish here last year
With a runner-up finish in his first ever start in this event and only being outside the Top 20 once I think it is fair to say that Gavin Green 50/1 – with AKBets – enjoys teeing it up in the Indian Open. Gavin has two other Top 10 finishes including last years Top 5 and I am sure he will be looking forward to this week
Outside tip
It took three years for Nacho Elvira 80/1 – with BetVictor – to follow up his maiden European Tour win with his second last year at the Soudal Open. Nacho has now notched up three Top 20 finishes in his last three starts, and is coming back to a course where he had six-place finish the last time he teed it up here
