Golf Monthly is the market leading golfing magazine in the UK. It's a lively and welcoming read that is targeted at good golfers who are regular players - and keen to get even better.
With over 100 years of heritage and authority behind it, it represents the real 'voice of golf' with leading columnists, top players and unrivalled coverage of equipment and instruction.
The European Tour moves to Bahrain for the Bapco Energies Bahrain Championship, that will be held for the second year at the Colin Montgomerie designed Royal Golf Club which is Bahrain’s only 18 hole grass golf course in the kingdom and opened for play back in 1999.
The course has since been completely redesigned by Montgomerie and European Tour designs when it closed redevelopment in 2007 and reopened for play again in January 2009
The golf club is located in Riffa Views, the kingdom's first 'gated community’ and is located around 20 kilometres from the capital Manama. The course combines rolling desert and landscaped lakes, with the design brief of trying to design a links style golf course.
The course is a green oasis in a natural desert landscape, the course meanders around the deep wadis and sand waste bunkers. The closing four holes feature water hazards with manmade lakes coming into to play on the left of the 15th and 16th holes and to the right on the 17th and 18th holes.
There is also a short 9-hole course named the Wee Monty. The back nine holes of the championship course and the entire small course have been designed to be floodlit at night.

My tips to Win:
Two starts and two Top 10s for LIV player Patrick Reed 16/1 – with Bet365 – on the European Tour. Reed finished in twentieth position on the LIV order of merit, but is obviously playing on the European Tour to boost his world ranking points and I expect him to be challenging again this week
I am going to stick with Thorbjørn Olesen 16/1 – with UniBet – who is looking to keep his winning streak of winning one event a year going since 2022. It has not been the start to the year that the Dane was probably looking for, but there was improvement last week and I expect him to be back challenging this week
Having finished the back end of last year strongly David Puig 18/1 – with Bet365 – got off to a great start last week with his first tournament of the year and a third-place finish, firing a final round 65. And I expect him to be in the thick of it again this week
Each-way tips:
Like last year until his capitulation at the Volvo Mixed Sebastian Söderberg 40/1 – with UniBet – is again starting to get himself into contention in events. He is a great golfer and I don’t think it is going to be long before he finds himself right in the mix come Sunday afternoon, and hopefully this time he will go on to win. Sebastian had a sixth-place finish here last year and I expect him to be in one of the final pairings again come Sunday
With two Top 20 finishes from his four starts so far this year Ugo Coussaud 60/1 – with UniBet – will be arriving in confident mood this week, especially coming back from an over par start at the Ras Al Khaimah Championship last week
Hamish Brown 80/1 – with UniBet – three starts and two Top 20 finishes so far this year, including a Top 10 at the Ras Al Khaimah Championship at the weekend
