Golf Monthly is the market leading golfing magazine in the UK. It's a lively and welcoming read that is targeted at good golfers who are regular players - and keen to get even better.
With over 100 years of heritage and authority behind it, it represents the real 'voice of golf' with leading columnists, top players and unrivalled coverage of equipment and instruction.
Designed by Jack Neville and Douglas Grant and first opened for play on February 22, 1919, Pebble Beach is the venue of this week’s AT&T and home to some of the greatest US Open Championships ever played.
This is the only course that Jack Neville ever designed and he had one aim, to design as many holes as possible along the rocky Monterey coast line which he felt would be best achieved by using a 'figure 8' design. The course hugs the rugged coastline providing stunning views, cliff-side fairways and sloping greens.
Arnold Palmer is a share-holder and member of the Pebble Beach Company and he has been commissioned several times to make changes to the course which included lengthening the course to more than 7,000 yards, adding trees, new bunkers and moving some of the fairways closer to the sea.

My tips to Win:
I think the first two rounds at The Sentry where just knocking the rust off for Justin Thomas 16/1 – with AKBets – he has since gone onto rack up six rounds in the 60s in his next six rounds, which helped him to his runner-up finish at the American Express. I think Justin isn’t a great fan of playing here, he missed the cut in his first ever start, missed the cut at the 2019 US Open here and played in this event for the first time last year since those missed cuts, when it became an elevated tournament and had a six-place finish!
Hopefully Ludvig Åberg 22/1 – with AKBets – has recovered from his flu type virus that he was playing with at the Farmers Insurance Open last week after getting off to a great start. I am sure the combination of his virus and those high winds had a lot to do with him plummeting down the leaderboard, rather than his golf game which looked in great shape after his opening 63
Now someone who does love teeing it up at Pebble Beach is Patrick Cantlay 20/1 – with AKBets – who has five Top 20 finishes from his seven starts and three of those have been inside the Top 10 with two Top 5 finishes. Patrick has had two starts this year with two Top 15 finishes including his fifth-place finish at the American Express
Each-way tips:
With a sixth-place finish the first time he teed it up in this event Jason Day 40/1 – with AKBets – has gone on to notch up a runner-up finish, four other Top 5s, five other Top 10s and has only been outside the Top 25 twice in his fourteen starts. That is some consistent record over the Pebble Beach Estate courses
I am going to stick with Keegan Bradley 50/1 – with AKBets – again this week, I don’t feel the Farmers Insurance Open truly represented where players golf games are at the moment. Having said that, three Top 15 finishes from his first three starts shows you Keegan’s game is in great shape despite those high winds last week
Outside tip:
With three Top 26 finishes in this event from his five starts, I am sure Denny McCarthy 100/1 – with 888Sport – will be looking forward to this week. Denny has only teed it up twice so far this year, but a Top 20 finish at the Sony Open should see him arrive here in buoyant mood
