Golf Monthly is the market leading golfing magazine in the UK. It's a lively and welcoming read that is targeted at good golfers who are regular players - and keen to get even better.
With over 100 years of heritage and authority behind it, it represents the real 'voice of golf' with leading columnists, top players and unrivalled coverage of equipment and instruction.
The PGA Tour stays in Texas this weeks for the Valero Texas Open, which is played on the demanding 7,435 yard Greg Norman designed TPC San Antonio Oaks Course, which also had some input from Sergio Garcia.
It’s a tough track and any player who suffers from claustrophobia will not enjoy the tight narrow tree lined fairways here. If you miss the first and second cuts of rough you are in deep trouble, with thick knee-high native grass just off the second cut of the fairway.
Once a player has negotiated the tee shot then they have to aim at greens that are guarded by 12-foot deep bunkers. The greens are in near perfect condition and ample in size but they have plenty of movement in them, with lots of slopes, undulations, spines and ridges.

My tips to Win:
With five Top 25 finishes from his eight starts so far this season which includes a win and a Top 6 finish at The PLAYERS Championship the 2021 Masters Champion Hideki Matsuyama 20/1 – with UniBet – will be looking to challenge again this week and get his Augusta preparation off to a perfect start
With a win and a runner-up Jordan Spieth 20/1 – with 888Sport – will want to be in the thick of it again this week in his home states Open. It has been two years since Jordan tasted victory and he kicked off this season with two Top 6s from his first three starts, but two missed cuts in his last two starts, means he will be looking to challenge this week heading into Augusta next week
This week's defending champion is Corey Conners 22/1 – with 888Sport – who won this event for the second time last year. Corey comes into this week on the back of three Top 25 finishes from his last four starts
Each-way tips:
With a runner-up finish, and a Top 5 finish from his first two starts Byeong Hun An 33/1 – with LiveScoreBet – got his year off to a great start and has three Top 25 finishes from his last four starts. Byeong did miss the cut at The PLAYERS Championship, but with two Top 10 finishes from his four starts in this event, I feel he will bounce back this week
With three Top 15 finishes from his last four starts including two Top 10s Billy Horschel 35/1 – with SpreadEx – will be looking forward to challenging again at the TPC San Antonia course. Billy has four Top 15 finishes in this event including three Top 5, two of which have been third-place finishes and I am sure he will be looking forward to competing this week
Outside tip:
It has been a rollercoaster year for Akshay Bhatia 66/1 – with UniBet – with five Top 20 finishes from his nine starts, but when he hasn’t made the Top 20 his missed the cut! So its a case of which Akshay turns up this week
