Golf Monthly is the market leading golfing magazine in the UK. It's a lively and welcoming read that is targeted at good golfers who are regular players - and keen to get even better.
With over 100 years of heritage and authority behind it, it represents the real 'voice of golf' with leading columnists, top players and unrivalled coverage of equipment and instruction.
The European Tour now moves to India this week for the Hero Indian Open. Teeing up at the Arnold Palmer designed DLF G&CC and one of the highlights of the course is its Golden Eagles that have made this course their home, there is also 41 other varieties of birds.
The undulating course opened for play in 1999 and has water hazards on no less than seven holes, with aqua waiting for any stray shots on all of the final three holes. There is no let up when you get to the greens which have some very interesting complexes and will test the players skills with the flat stick this week.
In 2014 the club acquired some new land and commissioned Gary Player to design nine new holes and redesign nine of the existing Palmer course to come up with a new eighteen-hole layout, which opened for play in October 2015.
The course is designed around two lakes and an old quarry known as the Lake nine and the Quarry nine, it's a tough course from the tips at 7,654 yards featuring an island green on one of the par 3s, it will certainly test every part of your golf game.
I did feel that it would take a tournament to recover from his trip over the pond to play on the PGA Tour, but I expect Rasmus Hojgaard 14/1 with Bet365 to be back at it this week
I am going to stick with Richard Mansell 25/1 with Bet365 and to come back having taken a month out and finish inside the Top 15 at the Porsche Singapore Classic to keep his run of not finishing outside the Top 25 this season from his seven starts, shows his golf game is in great shape
Coming into this week on the back of his best performance so far this year is Joost Luiten 25/1 with Bet365 who had an eleventh-place finish at the Porsche Singapore Classic at the weekend. Joost will be coming back to an event where he has had two Top 10 finishes from his two starts over this course, including last years third-place finish and I am sure he will be looking forward to being back in the thick of it again this week
Each-way tips
I am sure Shubhankar Sharma 30/1 with UniBet will be excited about hitting form just as the European Tour arrives in his home country. After some solid performances Shubhankar missed two cuts, but came back at the weekend in Singapore with a seventh-place finish setting him up nicely to perform in from of his home support
A runner up here last year should see Yannik Paul 30/1 with BetFred looking forward to teeing it up again in India this week. It hasnt been the start to the year that Yannik had probably envisaged with only two Top 10 finishes from his six starts, I also put missing the cut in Singapore down to a bit of ring rust, but I expect him to be back in the hunt this weekend
Outside tip:
The Hero Indian Open has been played over the DLF G&CC for the last four years and Gavin Green 66/1 with UniBet has made the Top 16 in three of those events including a runner-up finish. Gavin opened up with a 64 at the Porsche Singapore Classic last week and then slowly slid out of contention, but coming back to a course that he seems to enjoy I think could well be the trigger he needs
