The PGA Tour now moves from Mexico, to the Caribbean Island of Bermuda and the Port Royal Golf Club, for the Butterfield Bermuda Championship. The Port Royal Golf Club also hosted the 2009 Grand Slam of Golf.

Port Royal is probably the most popular course on the island and considered to be one of the best municipal golf courses in the world. The course was design by Robert Trent Jones and opened for play in 1970 and is routed over high ground with stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean. The course recently underwent a $14.5 million redesign overseen by Roger Rulewich who was part of Jones’s original design team.

Those amazing Atlantic Ocean views have now been opened up with the course utilising palms and Bermudian cedars, creating a more natural open environment. New lakes have been added and the redesigned greens now use TifEagle grass for a faster, more consistent roll, the bunkers have also under gone some reshaping to be consistent with the contours of the land and the yardage has been increased to 6,842yds.

Port Royal features some of Bermuda's most picturesque and dramatic holes, highlighted by the stunning signature hole the par 3, 16th. The hole is played from a tee on one side of a cliff edge, to a green that is perched on a peninsula on the other of a chasm and at 235 yards, it’s all carry and can be anything from a mid-iron to a driver depending on the wind, and will no doubt feature prominently on our TVs this week.

My tips to Win:

Having won this event two years ago I am sure Seamus Power 16/1 – with BetFred – will be looking forward to arriving on this beautiful Caribbean Island this week. Seamus has played in four events on the Fall Series so far and had three Top 15 finishes and I feel he will be in the heat of battle come Sunday

A runner-up finish for Justin Lower 25/1 – with Bet365 – at the weekend should see him looking forward to teeing it up this week in Bermuda, where he has had two Top 20 finishes in his two starts, including last years eighth-place finish

I am also going to stick with Matti Schmid 33/1 – with UniBet – again this week and while he did miss the cut in Mexico he did have three Top 16 finishes from his previous three starts – two of which were Top 5s – going into that event. Matti also had a third-place finish here last year so will have positive vibes about being back in Bermuda this week

Each-way tips:

Desperate to stay inside the Top 125 and sitting right on the bubble at the moment is Daniel Berger 35/1 – with BetVictor – who had his second Top 20 finish from five starts on the Fall Series at the WWT Championship at the weekend. Daniel was off for 18-months with an injury and came back earlier this year, but Berger is a four time PGA Tour winner and I expect him to start challenging over the next two events and make it inside the Top 125

With his second Top 6 finish in the Fall Series at the weekend Joe Highsmith 40/1 – with Bet365 – should arrive in Bermuda in buoyant mood. Joe made it his fourth Top 16 finish from five starts in the Fall Series and I expect him to be challenging again come Sunday

Outside tips:

A runner-up finish in his first Fall Series start you would have thought David Lipsky 80/1 – with BetFred – would have gone on to challenge during the following events, but instead he missed the next two cuts. It wasn’t until the weekend that he was back in the mix at the WWT Championship with a sixth-place finish. David had a Top 15 finish here last year and should arrive here with more trust in his golf game

Longer odds:

Try Carl Yuan 300/1 – SpreadEx

As always good luck
