The FedEx Cup play-offs now move to Castle Pines Golf club in Colorado which weighs in at a massive 8,071 yards from the tips! On the plus side it is over a 6,500 feet above sea level, so with the refined atmosphere at that altitude the ball flies a lot further and will certainly need to.

The course was designed by Jack Nicklaus in 1981 and is carved out of a scrub oak and pine forest in the heart of Colorado, not far from Denver. The course has many elevation changes with each nine starting high on the estate before making its way down to the bottom of the property and then back up to the top to the 9th and 18th greens.

Very little earth was disturbed while creating the course at Castle Pines as the holes meander their way through avenues of trees. Some of the holes are open and it’s at these holes that you get to experience the wonderful vistas and expansive views of the Rocky Mountains.

The natural terrain provides plenty of dramatic moments while the mature pine trees and scrub oak frame the fairways giving a sense of isolation on each hole and there are some beautiful water features. Recent renovations and partial redesigns were undertaken in 2020 by senior design associate Jim Lipe in conjunction with Superintendent, Doug Brooks, which have changed some holes for the better. While the 3rd hole isn't even recognisable from its original design.
