Golf Monthly is the market leading golfing magazine in the UK. It's a lively and welcoming read that is targeted at good golfers who are regular players - and keen to get even better.
With over 100 years of heritage and authority behind it, it represents the real 'voice of golf' with leading columnists, top players and unrivalled coverage of equipment and instruction.
The tour now moves back to mainland Europe and the fantastic facilities at the Club de Campo Villa de Madrid's Negro course for the Open de España. Sitting on the outskirts of Madrid the original club was founded in 1930 with a Tom Simpson and Philip McKenzie Ross design, which was damaged during the Spanish Civil War.
The club reopened in 1952, a nine-hole course which featured seven holes from an earlier Javier Arana design. It took another four years before Javier designed a new nine-holes and remodelled the existing nine and in 1962 the club decided to expand and Arana was commissioned to design another nine-holes, which required rerouting of the existing course with the 15th and 18th holes becoming the 7th and 9th.
In 1993 three times Open Champion Seve Ballesteros was commissioned to design another 9-holes completing the Amarillo course – In a fitting tribute three years later Seve would go on to notch up his 50th European Tour Victory in the Open de España, which was held at the Club de Campo facility.
This week Club de Campo will be hosting its tenth Open de España and has also hosted fourteen Madrid Opens. The course sits on top of the Cerro de Aguila hill and makes full use of the terrain and its spectacular views over Madrid. The course is tree-lined and uses the typograpy to slowly move players down from the clubhouse to the Manzanares planes and using the 8th and 9th – which is a par 3 par played over a gorge – to come back to the clubhouse, this is achieved by the 14th and 15th holes on the back nine.

My tips to Win:
All eyes will be on Jon Rahm 12/1 – with BetVictor – this week after two wins and a runner-up finish in his last three starts on the LIV Tour. Jon has not been outside the Top 10 in his twelve starts on LIV, and has five other Top 5 finishes
I am going to stick with Aaron Rai 30/1 – with BetVictor – again this week and I feel he made the right decision to go for the flag on the 18th at Wentworth at the weekend. I felt like it showed that he was there to win and wasn’t thinking about the money, great attitude
Each-way tips:
Coming into this week on the back of a win at the Omega European Masters and a Top 15 finish at the BMW PGA Championship at the weekend is Matt Wallace 35/1 – with BetVictor – who has stated his main aim is to make next years Ryder Cup team and I expect him to be right in the thick of it again come the weekend
This year’s defending champion is Matthieu Pavon 35/1 – with BetVictor – who followed up a runner-up finish in this event the year before to take the title. Matthieu had his first win on the PGA Tour this year at the Farmers Insurance Open and made it all the way through to the Tour Championship
It may have not come full circle as I was hoping for at the weekend for Matteo Manassero 40/1 – with BetVictor – but he did make it his third Top 6 finish in his last four starts and I expect him to be challenging again this week
Outside tips
A player that seems to be coming back into form with a Top 20 finish at the weekend is Yannik Paul 80/1 – with UniBet – Yannik had a Top 10 finish here a couple of years ago and coming back here maybe with some positive vibes, maybe just what he needs after his performance at the BMW PGA Championship
As I eluded to the last time I tipped Dan Bradbury 90/1 – with UniBet – a few weeks ago it has not been a great year. But Dan will be coming back to an event where he has had two Top 15 finishes in his last two starts here. And with shooting a final round 65 at Wentworth at the weekend, he should arrive with a lot more confidence in himself and his golf game
