Firstly congratulation to Xander Schaufelle on becoming Champion Golf of the Year and a double Major Championship winner in 2024. The PGA Tour moves to the TPC Twin Cities layout in Blaine, Minnesota a suburb of Minneapolis and it’s another new course on the schedule. The course has been home to the 3M Championship on the PGA Champions Tour since 1991, but moved to the PGA Tour as the 3M Open in 2019.
The course was originally designed by the Arnold Palmer back in 1997, to bring the course up to PGA Tour standards a team from Arnold Palmer Design Company, have worked with Hollis Cavner, CEO of Pro Link Sports and organiser of the 3M Championship, Steve Wenzloff, senior vice president of design at PGA Tour Design Services, and professional golfer Tom Lehman.
Fairway lines have been strategically adjusted to place a premium on driving accuracy while also minimising the advantage disparity between the longer and shorter hitters on tour. Some tees and bunkers have been repositioned, added or realigned. The most significant change has been at the eighteenth hole, where the tees have been moved to a position where the hole plays its true yardage and the lake at the front of the green has been expanded.
There has also been adjustment to the 594-yard par-5 double dogleg 6th hole, which now puts a premium on accuracy and becomes a classic risk/reward hole. A tee shot played over the deep fescue grasses framing the right side will shorten the hole significantly and any successful second shot played over the pond should find the wide putting green.

My tips to Win:
After being in great position after the first round at The Open Tony Finau 11/1 with UniBet fell away and missed the cut, but I am sure he will be looking forward coming back to a course where he has won and has two other Tops 10 from his five starts, one of which was a third-place finish
Each-way tips:
I am sure Billy Horschel 35/1 with Bet365 will take a lot of confidence from his runner-up finish at The Open Championship, especially the way he came back after losing the lead and finishing with three straight birdies. Billy played in this event for the first time last year and had a Top 15, but I expect to see him challenging again this week
I am sure Cam Davis 45/1 with BetVictor will take a lot of positives from his recent win at the Rocket Mortgage Classic and while he didnt take one of the Open Championship slots at the Scottish Open, he did just miss out on a Top 25 finish there by a shot. Cam has three Top 20 finishes in this event from his five starts including a Top 10 and I expect him to be in the thick of the battle again come Sunday
It has certainly been an up and down season for Adam Hadwin 50/1 with BetVictor with six missed cuts and five Top 10s three of which have been Top 5s. Which slightly reflects his record in this tournament with two Top 10 finishes one of which was a Top 5 from his four starts here. But I expect Adam to be back challenging again this week
Having started the season with four Top 20 finishes from his first five starts Emiliano Grillo 50/1 with BetVictor has gone totally off the boil and has only had one Top 15 since, which was his eighth-place finish at the Arnold Palmer Invitational. But Emiliano has a good record here with three Top 10 finishes from his four starts, which includes a runner-up and a third-place finish. Its obviously a course he loves teeing it up on, and I think we could see him back challenging again come Sunday
Outside tip:
This weeks defending champion is Lee Hodges 70/1 with BetVictor who has played in this event twice with his other finish being a sixteenth-place the first time he teed it up here, before taking the title last year. Lee is another player that has had an inconsistent year, but coming back and defending his title he will want to put up a good defence this week
