The PGA Tour now moves to the famed Harry Colt and Charles Alison designed Seaside Course at the Sea Island resort. Tom Fazio updated the course back in 1999 and not long after it entered Golf Digest’s list of Top 100 Courses.

Tour golf is not the only claim to fame of the Sea Island resort, the G8 held one of its summits here back in 2004. Sea Island’s story is a fascinating look at America’s past. Howard Coffin founded Sea Island Investments back in 1926. Coffin was founder of the Hudson Motor Company and designed the original Hudson Motor Car, one of the first mass produced motorcars, which sold for less than $1000.

Coffin and his young cousin, A.W. Jones, worked to make Coffin’s dream of a seaside oasis come true. In late 1928, The Cloister at Sea Island was born, it was designed in the Spanish style of Palm Beach architect Addison Mizner and their first course to be built at Sea Island was the Walter Travis, Plantation Course. Situated on the historic Retreat Plantation on St. Simons Island, the course opened in the summer of 1927 and quickly gained popularity.

There are not many true links courses in North American but the Colt and Alison Seaside course design is one of the rare few and rightly holds a place in American golf course history and recently moved up 111 place to 76th in the worlds top 250 courses.

Tips to win:

I think it says a lot about a player that everyone was shocked that Ludvig Εberg 14/1 – with UniBet – finished outside the Top 5 in his last two starts and only made the Top 15 in both of them. Ludvig has come a long way in such a short time, but I think he is doing the right thing now in taking rest between events and not teeing it up every week and I expect him to be back in the thick of it again come Sunday.

Three Top 5 finishes from his four starts on the Fall Series including a runner-up in his last start at the Zozo Championship and Eric Cole 35/1 – with BetVictor – will be looking to keep this run going

This will be the first time that Denny McCarthy 45/1 – with UniBet – has teed it up in the Fall Series of events. But, choosing to come back to a tournament where has has had two Top 10 finishes in his last two starts, I feel says everything about why he has chosen this week to comeback

Each-way tips:

Two Top 15 finishes from this four starts on the Fall Series should see JJ Spaun 50/1 – with LiveScoreBet – arrive here this week in confident mood. JJ has a runner-up finish in this event and another Top 15 finish from his six starts at Sea Island

Four Top 20 finishes from his five starts on the Fall Series including a win should see Luke List 50/1 – with LiveScoreBet – arrive here in buoyant mood this week. Luke has three Top 15 finishes at Sea Island including a Top 5 from his six starts, and I am sure he will fancy his chances of adding another win this week

Outside tips:

With a win and a runner-up finish in this event I was surprised to see Mackenzie Hughes 100/1 – with LiveScoreBet – this far down the betting odds. He may not have had the best Fall Series, but he did have a Top 10 finish the last time he teed it up at the World Wide Technology Championship and that should give him a lot of confidence coming back to a course he obviously enjoys playing

Longer odds:

Choice of two this week

Try Kevin Kisner 250/1 – with LiveScoreBet or Henrik Norlander 250/1 – with LiveScoreBet

As always good luck
