This week sees the continuing autumn season move to The Country Club of Jackson that came into to being in 1914, when a small group of businessmen purchased 100 acres off of Clinton Boulevard, five miles west of Jackson, this gave birth to The Country Cub of Jackson. At that time the Club was so far out of town that a local old gentleman, provided transport for people who did not have cars.
The original clubhouse was a large, old house on the property, which burnt down in 1936 and was replaced by an attractive, framed building and contained a large all-purpose room, ballrooms, small bar and a ladies locker room in the attic. Tragedy struck again with a fire that destroyed the clubhouse.
A brick, fireproof building, was built impressively decorated by Marshall Field of Chicago. The present property was purchased in the late fifties. Through the past 100 years, the Club has grown through a series of renovations and expansions to become what it is today

This will all come down to if Ludvig Aberg 12/1 – with 888Sport – can come down from the adrenalin rush and no doubt the massive hangover from his Ryder Cup celebrations and the long-haul flight back to the US. If he can do all that and channel some of last weeks energy, then I think we could see the young Swede pick up his first PGA Tour title, but on the other hand he may just crash and burn and miss the cut by miles!
We did tip Eric Cole 22/1 – with SportingIndex – at the Fortinet Championship and I am sure he will take a lot of confidence from that finish. He missed the cut here last year, but then he also missed the cut at the Fortitnet Championship last year and had a Top 5 this year, I am expecting a similar outcome this week
This will be the fourth time that Emiliano Grillo 25/1 – with 888Sport – has competed in this event and he had a Top 5 finish here last year, despite opening up with a first round 73. Emiliano won his first PGA Tour event earlier this year and finished the season strongly with three Top 20 finishes from his last five starts, making it all the way to the Tour Championship
Each-way tips:
We are going to stick with Akshay Bhatia 55/1 – with UniBet – after we tipped him for the Fortinet Championship where he missed the cut. But, that seems to be the nature of Akshay’s game at the moment, one week he will miss the cut the following week he will be right in the thick of the battle
Another player that also seems to be hit or miss at the moment is Callum Tarren 66/1 – with UniBet – who had a Top 15 finish in this event last year. Callum had a Top 10 finish at the Fortinet Championship a couple of weeks ago and I think he will be challenging again this week
Outside tip:
With a win and a runner-up finish here I think these are great odds for Peter Malnati 80/1 – with LiveScoreBet – he may not have challenged here in his other six starts, but he will arrive with a lot of positive vibes from that victory. Peter will also arrive with a lot of confidence after his Top 15 finish at the Fortinet Championship
