The tour now moves to Greensboro, North Carolina and the last event of the scheduled regular tour events before starting the Tour Championship play-off tournaments.

I am sure we will be in for some exciting golf again this weekend, especially for the guys on the bubble trying to make the FedEx Cup play-offs and Sedgefield CC couldn’t be a better course to be playing this event on.

Donald Ross originally designed Sedgefield Country Club back in 1926 the track was redesigned by Kris Spence in 2007, the restoration project took 10 months to complete at a cost of $3 million which transformed the course back to how Donald Ross envisaged the course to play.

Now measuring 7,130-yards and a par 70, the course doesn’t play that long from the tees but emphasis is on strategy and being in the right section of these rolling fairways. The small greens are very undulating and slope from back to front, with many falling off the edges into collection areas. The layout has a reputation for low scoring, which should make for an exciting tournament this week

My tips to Win:

A win and two runner-up finishes means Billy Horschel 22/1 – with Bet365 – will be in confident mood after a couple of weeks rest since The Open Championship. The last time Billy played in this event two years ago he had a runner-up finish he also has three other Top 15 finishes in this event and I expect him to be in the thick of the battle come Sunday.

In his thirteen starts at the Wyndham Championship Webb Simpson 22/1 – with Bet365 – has only been outside the Top 25 twice, he has a win, back-to-back runner-up finishes three other Top 5s and three 10s. I think you can safely say Webb loves teeing it up at Sedgefield Country Club!

Another past champion that had a runner-up finish last year is Si Woo Kim 28/1 – with BetVictor – and he has two other Top 5 finishes here. Coming back to Sedgefield Country Club on the back of two Top 15 finishes in his last two starts, Si Woo will be looking forward to teeing it up in this event again.

Each-way tips:

The last couple of weeks have certainly been interesting for Denny McCarthy 40/1 – with SkyBet – with three Top 10 finishes from his last five starts, but the other two have been missed cuts, so it is a question of what Denny turns up this week! The good news is he has had three Top 25 finishes from his four starts here and I expect him to be challenging again this week.

This week’s defending champion is Kevin Kisner 40/1 – with 10Bet – who has certainly had an interesting few weeks with five missed cuts from his last seven starts, the other two have been Top 25 finishes which includes his sixth-place finish at the Travelers Championship. Kevin has three other Top 10 finishes from his six starts here and I expect him to defend his title in style this week.

Outside tip:

This will be Callum Tarren 120/1 – with SportingIndex – first time teeing it up in the Wyndham Championship but with four Top 20 finishes from his last 4 starts including two Top 10s, he comes into this week in confident mood and I think these are great odds for the lad from Darlington.
