The drive from Foz do Iguaçu airport to the Wish Golf Resort Iguaçu was thankfully short. I was hot and tired when we landed and was pleased that our driver arrived with ice cold water, cold towels and fruit.

Wish Result Golf and Convention centre was my home for the next few days. 15 minutes from Foz do Iguaçu Check in was a smooth process and I'm struck by how attractive the lobby of hotel is.

A quick drive in a golf cart and I'm entering my room. Sliding doors seem to be a big feature in Brazilian hotel rooms. My spacious room is full of dark wood furniture with neutral coloured walls. The mini bar has a decent selection of everything I like in the middle of the night, the bed firm but comfortable and the sofa is large enough to put my feet up and read. The short walk to the restaurant later reveals the many warm water swimming pools set in the vegetation rich grounds. The grounds are worth the walk.

Breakfast is a large buffet with a chef on hand to make fresh omelettes to order. There are a number of gluten free products to eat which pleasantly surprised me. Lunch is a more refined a la carte affair with dinner returning to buffet style.

The hotel bar with its club chairs looks out on to the grounds of this golf resort making even the most formal meetings feel relaxing.

Iguaçu is built around the dam and the falls, and there is plenty to do, viewing the dam can be an all day event and as you will read from my other reviews the Foz do Iguaçu can viewed, by air, foot or boat and all are great way to see this stunning, powerful natural wonder.

For the more adventurous and passport stamp collectors among you, Paraguay is only a 20 minute drive away and I am told their tax free shopping malls are a must for bargain hunters.

The Parque Des Aves, bird sanctuary is a must see as is the night time Rafain Churrascaria Show, before returning to Wish Golf Resort for that well deserved nightcap in the bar.
