Farleigh Golf Club
I have driven past Farleigh golf club many times and its only about a 30-minute drive from where I live but for some reason I had never played the course, the drive up to the clubhouse from the entrance is quite a long one but it gave me time to spot some of the holes and take in the tapography of the land to which I was pleasantly surprised.
Its 6.50am early September and the sun has not long risen and its golden and orange rays are casting beautiful shadows across the brown fescue and emerald green baise of the fairways and greens, the rolling Surrey hills look amazing and I just can’t wait to get out and play.
As I am playing this course in the middle of the Covid pandemic all the usual precautions have been put in place, hand sanitisers, 2-metre distancing markers and a one-way system to keep everyone moving in the same direction. A swift chat with Ben one of the professionals at the club and I am making my way to the 1st tee on the Yellow nine.
