Now I heard a lot about Anfi Tauro Golf while working on the Golf Monthly travel supplements and have seen the amazing photos, but it’s not until you stand on the tee of the 385 yard, 1st hole and – like yesterday with its juxtaposition of the dark rock mountain backdrop and green fairways – that you know you are going to be in for another wonderful golfing experience.
There are five teeing options here ranging from 6,917 yards from the white tees to 4,864 yards from the black tees, so you will find a teeing option to suit your game that will enable you to enjoy this golf course.

Making my way round, the greens are just pure and in perfect condition, although none have lived up to the speed of the Real Club de Golf de Las Palmas greens, although I am sure they can cut these to tournament speed when needed. The bunkers have white sand and with the emerald fairways and dark rock it is another aesthetically beautiful-looking golf course.
The first of the two par 3s arrives at the 3rd hole and weighs in at 206 yards from the white tees. It is played from a slightly elevated tee across a stream with a bridge to a green that has many complexes and could offer some very tricky pin positions.
The first breathtaking elevated tee comes at the 432 yard, par-4 4th hole, which doglegs right with the mountain backdrop coming right to the edge of the fairway. Even if you are not playing from the tips I would suggest you go and take a look.
Like yesterday at Salobre Golf Course, it’s one great golf hole after another with amazing views of the sea and mountains, with its emerald fairways weaving through the rocks and mountains and waste ground. It is another wonderful setting and Von Hagge, Smelek & Baril, who blasted this course through these mountains in the Tauro Valley, have done a magnificent job.

There are so many amazing golf holes I am not going to pick any one hole. Again there really aren’t any weak holes on the course, but the view from the back tee on the 14th really does deserve a special mention – a truly awe-inspiring vista looking down to the fairway below and out across the course to the mountains and across the hotel.
It has been another amazing day’s golf and while there is no clubhouse here, there is a roof top bar. Unfortunately it isn’t open, so I am heading back downstairs to the ground floor bar and enjoying my cold beer while savouring the memories and raising my glass to Von Hagge, Smelek & Baril. Thank you gentlemen.
