La Manga was the brainchild of American Gregory Peters who wanted to build an American type golf resort in Europe and with Spain’s climate it was a natural fit.
Since it first opened in 1972 La Manga has not only become a must visit destination for golfers, but also some of the world's best football teams including Barcelona, Real Madrid, Liverpool and the England team and other sports teams visit La Manga’s state of the art facilities and beautiful hotel.
The edition of the New David Leadbetter Academy added to the great practice facilities. La Manga has now become the place to go for top professional, amateur and serious golfers and sports men and women to get ready for the season ahead with their bespoke training programmes, boot-camps etc.
