Firstly congratulations to Jon Rahm, what a way to win his first Major Championship and well deserved. The tour now moves on to Cromwell, Connecticut for the Travelers Championship which is once again being held at the TPC River Highlands.

River Highlands is a bit of a chameleon, the course opened in 1928 under the name of Middletown Golf Club, which later became known as the Edgewood Country Club. In 1982 Pete Dye completely redesigned the 6,841 yard track and finally in 1989 it went through another renovation this time undertaken by Bobby Weed with input from PGA Tour players Howard Twitty and Roger Maltbie.

The course weaves its way through mature maple, oak, eastern white pine and sycamore trees, which help to frame the gently rolling fairways. There are numerous lakes, ponds and over 100 bunkers. The tough finishing stretch of holes from the 15th - 17th play around a four-acre lake - just to make things a bit more interesting!

With a lot of bookies now moving to 1/5 of the odds for places, we will try to only show bookies who still offer 1/4 of the odds and bring you the best golf betting tips available for players price and place.

My tips to Win:

After his meltdown on the back nine at the US Open I am sure Bryson DeChambeau 12/1 — with 10Bet — will be in determined mood when he arrives here this week. Bryson has finished inside the Top 10 in his last three starts at the Travelers Championship so he knows the course well and he will know doubt be in the thick of it again come Sunday.

With two runner-up finishes — one of which was his first start in this event — and two other Top 5 finishes from six starts at TPC River Highlands Paul Casey 18/1 — with SportingBet — obviously enjoys teeing it up at the Travelers Championship. I am sure Paul maybe kicking himself that he didn’t put in more of a challenge at the US Open but he will take the positives from his Top 10 finish — his sixth of the season — and will know doubt be in the thick of the battle again this weekend.

Another player that enjoys teeing it up at TPC River Highlands is Kevin Streelman 33/1 — with 10Bet — who is a past champion and was runner-up in this event last year, he also had a Top 10 finish in his first start here and has gone on to have two other Top 10s along with his win and runner-up finishes. Kevin comes into this week in great form having four Top 20 finishes from his last four starts and he will take plenty of positives from his fifteenth place finish at last weeks US Open.

Each-way tips:

Its hard to say what Bubba Watson 45/1 — with SportingIndex — will turn up this week, but its difficult not to tip him when he has had three wins over the TPC River Highlands track a runner-up finish and two other Top 10s. Bubba was in good shape going into the last day of the US Open, but that final round 76 see him crash down the leaderboard and I wonder how that will affect him mentally coming into this week. His golf game was obviously in good shape to get him into that position going into the final round, hopefully with that in mind and coming back to a course and tournament he enjoys should see that final round put firmly in the past.

Another player that has had a runner-up finish in this event is Keegan Bradley 55/1 — with SportingIndex — who seems to have eased his way in to this tournament gradually finding his feet each year then had a Top 10 finishes, then came the runner-up finish a couple of years later. I have tipped Keegan a few times this year and he was on a great run of form with five Top 25 finishes which included two Top 5s, but he missed the cut at the Memorial and didn’t play last week so I am sure he will come back refreshed a raring to go this week.

Outside tip:

Last weeks Top 5 finish at the US Open for Italys Guido Migliozzi 110/1 — with VBet — was no surprise to those who also follow the European Tour, Guido had back-to-back runner-up finishes making it three so far this year before heading over to Torrey Pines and at these odds he is definitely worth a 50p each-way punt.

Longer odds:

As always good luck
