As the new wraparound season starts to take shape the tour now moves to TPC Summerlin in Las Vegas for the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open.

Designed by Bobby Weed with input from Fuzzy Zoeller, the 7,223-yard opened for play in November 1991 and was built in the heart of Summerlin, a 22,000-acre planned community on the western-most edge of Las Vegas, it incorporates traditional golf design with the natural desert terrain of the region.

As a stadium course, the TPC Summerlin was built to accommodate golfing fans with unrestricted views of tee shots, fairway approaches and putting, by using strategically placed spectator mounds and natural amphitheatres.

My tips to Win:

This will be Viktor Hovland 22/1 – with WilliamHill – first time teeing it up at TPC Summerlin in this event. I am sure Viktor will put the disappointment of the Ryder Cup behind him and want to get back to winning golf tournaments again asap and I think that starts here this week.

From his three starts in this event Abraham Ancer 25/1 – with WilliamHill – has had two Top 5 finishes and a missed cut, firing nine rounds in the 60s. Abraham won his maiden PGA Tour victory in August, which was also a WGC event the St Jude Invitational and he will be looking to get this new wraparound season off to a winning start.

Webb Simpson 28/1 – with WilliamHill – is a past winner of this event and out of the ten times he has teed it up here he has only been outside the Top 20 three time and has three Top 10s as well as his win. Webb only missed the cut three times from his twenty-one starts last season, but he only had six Top 10s and didn't really challenge with his best finish being a fourth-place at the Sony Open in Hawaii and he will want to put that right early this year.

Each-way tips:

Having been a past champion here and also had a runner-up finish I was surprised with the quality of the field that Kevin Na 30/1 – with WilliamHill – was this far down the betting odds, but that can only be good news for punters this week. Lets not forget that Kevin finished the season with two runner-up places, a third place at the Tour Championship and another Top 10 and wasn’t outside the Top 25 in his last six starts. Yes he did miss the cut at the season opener, but I expect him to be right in the thick of it come Sunday.

Two starts on the new wraparound season and Si Woo Kim 45/1 – with 10Bet – has two Top 11 finishes, he also has played in this event four times and has finished inside the Top 25 on three occasions with one of those being his eighth-place finish last year.

Outside tip:

This weeks defending champion is Martin Laird 160/1 – with OddsChecker – and these have to be great odds for any title defender, but even better when you consider that he has won this event twice and the last time he defended this title he did so with a runner-up finish!

Longer odds:

Try Nick Watney 200/1 – with SportNation

As always good luck
