The European Tour will be staying in Kenya this week for the inaugural Kenya Savannah Classic, which will also be played at the Karen CC home of last weeks Magical Kenya Open, and will be played from Tuesday to Friday, instead of the normal Thursday to Sunday!
Karen CC is full of history and located next to Karen Blixen’s (Out of Africa author) house which is now a museum dedicated to the Danish author. The Karen Country Club was founded in 1937 and is known as Kenya’s prettiest golf courses and prides itself as being one of the oldest golf clubs in Kenya.
Large parts of the 18-hole course were built on the former coffee estate developed by the author and the shade trees from her coffee plantation still dominate parts of the golf course.
The Ngong hills are a backdrop to the course that has a rich variety of trees, indigenous forest and flouring shrubs and fauna, with the wetlands being a distinct environmental feature and are home to thousands of birds. The course measures 6,900 yards from the tips with a par of 71.

My tips to Win:
One of the new players I am adding in this week will be Romain Langasque 22/1 with BetFred whos Top 5 finish at the weekend and after his 65 final round will be looking forward to teeing it up again here this week. Last week was the third time Romain has played over this course and he has finished inside the Top 5 on all three occasions including a runner-up when this was a Challenge Tour event, he will be determined to take the title this week.
After winning twice after the restart last year Sam Horsfield 25/1 with SportingBet went slightly off the boil as the season started to reach its climax and missed several cuts, so it was good to see him back in contention at the Magical Kenya Open, opening and closing with rounds of 65 in his first start on the European Tour this year. With the tournament being held at the same venue and having knocked off the rust, I expect to see Sam in the thick of it again come Sunday.
I am going to stick with several players this week and first up is George Coetzee 25/1 with BetFred who must have been kicking himself with that opening round of 72 last week, but he recovered well and his final round of 65 will give him plenty of confidence going into tomorrow tournament.
It looked like Connor Syme 55/1 with BetFred is not back to playing his best golf after a shaky start to the year, but an opening 65 and a final round of 64 at the weekends Kenya Open should see Connor in buoyant mood when he tees it up for the Kenya Savannah Classic over the same track this week.
Another player I am sticking with who had a Top 5 finish here back in 2019 is Gaganjeet Bhullar 66/1 with BetFred who opened up with a round of 66 here last week, but it was his second round 72 that let him down. A final round 65 will give him plenty of confidence coming into this tournament after his Top 16 finish at the weekend.
Something clicked for Sebastian Garcia Rodriguez 125/1 with BetFred on Sunday at the Magical Kenya Open firing a final round 63 to take him into the Top 5 which did contain a bogey on his first hole, but I am sure he will take a lot of confidence into this weeks event, especially as he was under par everyday and I think these are good odds for the Spaniard.
