The reschduled tour now moves on to Cromwell, Connecticut for the Travelers Championship which is once again being held at the TPC River Highlands.

River Highlands is a bit of a chameleon, the course opened in 1928 under the name of Middletown Golf Club, which later became known as the Edgewood Country Club. In 1982 Pete Dye completely redesigned the 6,841 yard track and finally in 1989 it went through another renovation this time undertaken by Bobby Weed with input from PGA Tour players Howard Twitty and Roger Maltbie.

The course weaves its way through mature maple, oak, eastern white pine and sycamore trees, which help to frame the gently rolling fairways. There are numerous lakes, ponds and over 100 bunkers. The tough finishing stretch of holes from the 15th - 17th play around a four-acre lake - just to make things a bit more interesting!

My tips to Win:

Justin Thomas 12/1 – with SportingBet – had a third-place finish in this event back in 2016 firing a final round 62, but it has been the only time he has challenged in this event from six starts. Justin is another player that has had two Top 10 finishes since the restart and his final round 63 at the weekend shows that his golf game is in great shape and he will be looking to improve his stats in this event.

This will be the third week I am sticking with Bryson DeChambeau 14/1 – WilliamHill – and it’s no surprise why, with his two Top 10 finishes since the restart. Bryson has improved on each of his four starts over the TPC River Highlands course with the last two being a tenth and eighth places finishes and I think he will be looking forward to playing a course where he can take advantage of his new-found length.

With three wins and a runner-up finish in this event it’s hard to look past Bubba Watson 33/1 – with Ladbrokes – who has had steady couple of tournaments since the restart, one of which was his Top 10 at the Charles Schwab.

Each-way tips:

A Top 5 finish at the RBC Heritage will see Joaquin Niemann 50/1 – with SportingBet – come into this week in buoyant mood. Joaquin played in this event for the first-time last year and finished in the Top 5 firing a 65 along the way, toping it off with a final round 66 and I expect him to be in the thick of it again come Sunday.

J T Poston 66/1 – with SportingBet – has teed it up here three times and has missed the cut each time, so you maybe asking yourself why I am tipping him this week, it’s because JT has finished inside the Top 10 in the two events since the restart and is showing great consistency firing all eight rounds in the 60s. He also sits 7th in the total putting stats and 1st in scrambling.

Outside tip:

It seems Brian Harman 80/1 – with UniBet – has learned how to play consistently well over the TPC River Highlands track with two Top 10 finishes in his last two starts, he also had a third-place finish here in 2015. Brian has had two Top 30 finishes since the restart and I am sure he will be in confident mood coming into this week.

Longer odds:

Try Dylan Frittelli 175/1 – with BetFred

As always good luck
