| So, after a missed summer and lots of organisation by the PGA Tour and the new bubble philosophy we finally make it to East Lake and the FedEx Cup finale.
East Lake Golf Club is the home course of legendary amateur golfer Bobby Jones and has held some major golf tournaments including the Ryder Cup in 1963 and the US Amateur in 2001 and is now the permanent home to the Tour Championship since 2005.
The club motto is “Golf with a Purpose” and working with the local community, all profits from the club, as well as charitable donations from the club’s corporate membership support the East Lake Foundation. Helping Atlanta's East Lake residents by giving them opportunities to build a better future through education for children and adults, affordable housing, job readiness and connections with the broader community.
Established in 1904, East Lake is the oldest golf course in Atlanta. Originally designed by Tom Bendelow, but completely reworked by Donald Ross in 1913. In 1994, Rees Jones restored Donald Ross' original golf course layout, which now measures 7,374 yards.
The signature hole at the 168-yard, par 3 6th plays from an elevated tee to a diagonally angled peninsula green. This green existed on the original Tom Bendelow course where it served as the green at the par 5 16th and was at the time, one of the first island greens in America.

My tips to Win:
The TOUR Championship looks like it will come down to a shoot-out between Jon Rahm on -8 and Dustin Johnson – who will start on -10 and obviously the odds this week are not going to be great. This is how the Top 10 stand and what score each player will be starting on going into the TOUR Championship

To Win:
With momentum on Jon Rahm’s 3/1 – BetFred – side and only two shots to gain on Johnson I do think he can close the gap. This is the first time that Jon has gone into the TOUR Championship with a realistic chance of winning the FedEx Cup and that final putt on the 1st play-off hole to win the BMW Championship at the weekend will see Rahm coming through the gates at East Lake in buoyant mood.
If anyone on the PGA Tour can shrug a defeat off by losing to a monster putt on the first play-off hole it would be Dustin Johnson 15/8 – with Ladrokes – and he will no doubt take the positives of the massive putt that he himself hold to actually get into the play-off. Dustin is probably in the best form of his life right now and seems to have the ball on a piece of string. He also has the confidence that comes from his -30 at TPC Boston two weeks ago and his performance at a tough Olympic Fields showing him, no matter what the venue he has the game for it.
Each-way tips:
If you’re looking for a longer odds player that could possibly catch Rahm or Johnson then I think it could be Hediki Matsuyama 33/1 – with Ladbrokes – he showed at the BMW Championship that when his game isn’t quite firing his short game will get him out of trouble. Hediki’s wedge play and putting at Olympic fields was nothing short of immense and with the rest of the game starting to click into gear after his swing changes, if he puts it all together this week he may just well close that six stroke gap.
As always good luck
