Designed by Nelson & Haworth Sheshan International Golf Club is the only golf course in Shanghai which is situated near the mountain, it has a change in elevation of more than thirty five feet and is situated in the shadow of the world famous Basilica of our Lady of Sheshan.

Sheshan has a unique forested hillside environment and has been designed around 1000 year old ginkgo trees, a spectacular quarry which dates back over 80 years and beautifully designed Jiangnan style bridges that cross the waterways.

This is the sixth time that the Sheshan Golf Club has held the WGC-HSBC, having already received international awards from the golfing world. In 2009, the Sheshan Golf course was instated at number 68 in Golf Digest’s top course in the world, outside of the US.

My tips to Win:

I will be sticking with a few players this week and the first of those is Rory McIlroy 6/1 – with SportingBet – who had a third-place finish at the Zozo Championship at the weekend and should come into this tournament in confident mood. Rory seems to enjoy teeing it up at the Sheshan International GC where he has had five Top 6 finishes from his seven starts and has only been outside the Top 11 once.

Another player from last week and a past champion here is Hideki Matsuyama 12/1 – with BetWay – who comes into this week on the back of a runner-up finish in Japan and a third-place finish at the CJ Cup and in his current form will be looking to repeat his win here in 2016.

Justin Rose 16/1 – with SportingBet – is another past champion of this event winning here in 2017 and he also has four other Top 7 finishes over the Sheshan International track. This will be Justin’s first event on the PGA Tours wraparound season but he does have two Top 15 finishes on the European Tour leading into this event.

Each-way tips:

Patrick Reed 30/1 – with BetFair – started his PGA Tour wraparound season with a Top 20 finish at the weekends Zozo Championship and I am sure he will be happy with his third round 65. Patrick has two Top 7 finishes in this event and I expect him to be challenging this week.

I am also going to stick with Byeong Hun An 40/1 – with UniBet – this week after his 66, 66 finish that took him into the Top 10 at the Zozo Championship, which followed on from his sixth place finish at the CJ Cup and with a third place at the Sandersons Farms Championship. Byeong is in great form at the moment and I don’t think it will be long before he picks up his first PGA Tour win.

Outside tip:

This will be the first time that Robert Macintyre 100/1 – with UniBet – has teed it up in this event, but nothing seems to overawe the big Scot in his first season on the European Tour and he comes into this week with two Top 5s from his last four starts including a runner-up finish at the Porsche European Tour and I think these are great odds for the lad from Oban.

Longer odds:

Try Christiaan Bezuidenhout 150/1 – with UniBet

As always good luck
