The European Tour starts it's Final Series and moves to Turkey and to the Colin Montgomerie designed Montgomerie Maxx Royal course in Belek, Antalya for the Turkish Airlines Open.

The course was designed in 2008 in conjunction with European Golf Design. The 18-hole championship course is set within 104 hectares of mixed pine forest and eucalyptus trees. The front nine features natural lakes while the back nine provides testing tee shots over large expanses of sandy wasteland.

My tips to Win:

The man to beat this week will be Justin Rose 8/1 – with SportingBet – who will aim to become the first player since Colin Montgomerie to win three consecutive European Tour tournaments when he defends his Turkish Airlines Open title. The unknown factor in this is the event this year will be held at The Montgomerie Maxx Royal – could this be an omen – unlike his previous two victories which came at the Regnum Carya Golf & Spa Resort.

It can’t be long before Matthias Schwab 28/1 – with Coral – finally wins his maiden European Tour tournament, he has eight Top 10 finishes which include a runner-up and four Top 5s, the latest coming at the weekends WGC event. Matthias had a Top 20 in this event last year and although it is at a different track this year I expect him to be in the thick of it again come Sunday.

With three runner-up finishes so far, this season and another Top 20 finish at the weekend at the WGC HSBC Champions tournament, I don’t think Robert Macintyre 28/1 – with SportingBet – will want to walk away from this season without a victory to his name.

Each-way tips:

It was understandable that Victor Perez 40/1 – with SportingBet – would take a couple of tournaments to settle down after his maiden win on the European tour, but he seems to have gotten back into the rhythm of things pretty quickly and with a Top 5 finish at the weekend in the WGC event I think the Frenchman will be in one of the final pairings come Sunday.

Kiradech Aphibarnrat 45/1 – with Coral – does have several Top 25 finishes in this event but more importantly his best finish, which was a third place came at this venue when he fired all four rounds in the 60s. Kiradech has been concentrating on the PGA Tour this year where he has had five Top 25 finishes from his twenty starts, but started the new wraparound season with a Top 10 firing four rounds of 69 at The CJ Cup, so he should be in confident mood this week.

Outside tip:

I think these are great odds for Joachim B Hansen 80/w – with UniBet – who has had a runner-up finish and another Top 5 in his last four starts and with a win in Turkey on the Challenge Tour last year on the way to reclaiming his full European Tour playing card, I think he will be looking forward to this week.
