East Lake Golf Club is the home course of legendary amateur golfer Bobby Jones and has held some major golf tournaments including the Ryder Cup in 1963 and the US Amateur in 2001 and is now the permanent home to the Tour Championship since 2005.

The club motto is “Golf with a Purpose” and working with the local community, all profits from the club, as well as charitable donations from the club’s corporate membership support the East Lake Foundation. Helping Atlanta's East Lake residents by giving them opportunities to build a better future through education for children and adults, affordable housing, job readiness and connections with the broader community.

Established in 1904, East Lake is the oldest golf course in Atlanta. Originally designed by Tom Bendelow, but completely reworked by Donald Ross in 1913. In 1994, Rees Jones restored Donald Ross' original golf course layout, which now measures 7,374 yards.

The signature hole at the 168-yard, par 3 6th plays from an elevated tee to a diagonally angled peninsula green. This green existed on the original Tom Bendelow course where it served as the green at the par 5 16th and was at the time, one of the first island greens in America.

My tips to Win:

He maybe starting 3-shots behind JT but I feel Brooks Koepka 11/2 – with BetFred – will be the man to beat this week. This may not be a Major Championship which seems to be the standard by which Brooks wants to set himself, but he will want – and believes he deserves, which I do too – to be standing on that 18th green come Sunday with that Tour Championship trophy in his hands and when he is in that frame of mind, there are not many players that can stop him.

What an epic battle Patrick Cantlay 5/1 – with UniBet – put up during the final round of the BMW Championship and he certainly wasn’t settling for the runner-up spot when he was coming down the stretch, taking every shot on. Patrick will start on 8-under two shots behind Justin Thomas 5/2 – with William Hill – but he can make that up very quickly in his current form.

Outside tip:

If anyone is going to step out of the pack I feel it will be Hideki Matsuyama 40/1 – with BoyleSport – who shot two rounds of 63 on his way to taking third place, it was just a shame that they sandwiched a third round 73. Hideki starts at 2-under par, seven shots behind JT but in his current form and if he can avoid that one bad round, he could be the one player to come from a long way behind.

As always good luck
