El Camaleon Golf Club is the centerpiece of the Mayakoba Resort, home to four separate properties along the Riviera Maya 42 miles from Cancun, Mexico. Designed by Greg Norman, the golf course measures 7,000 yards and opened for play in 2005. The 7th and 15th holes play right on the edge of the Caribbean Sea.

The course bends through three distinct landscapes -dense tropical jungles, mangrove forests, and oceanfront stretches of sand and is bisected by massive limestone canals. Greg Norman has even incorporated a cenote, an ancient underground cavern and river system into the center of the opening fairway.

My tips to Win:

The PGA Tour is back this weekend and Matt Kuchar 20/1 – with SportingBet – is the defending champion of the Mayakoba Golf Classic this week – let’s hope he pays his caddie the correct going rate this time if he decides to use a local caddie!

Globetrotting Billy Horschel 22/1 – with SportingBet – has had a Top 5 finish at the BMW PGA Championship in England on the European Tour, then a sixth-place finish in Japan and then a Top 25 at the WGC HSBC Champions event in China. So he certainly needed a week’s rest before being back on the road this week in Mexico.

In his last two starts here Russell Knox 33/1 – with SportingBet – has had runner-up and third-place finishes and with an eleventh-place finish in his last start at the Bermuda Championship where he opened with a 64, he should be in buoyant mood this week.

Each-way tips:

Danny Lee 50/1 – with BetFred – already has a runner-up finish on the wraparound season at the CJ Cup and followed that up with a Top 10 at the Zozo championship. Danny was a runner-up here last year and he also has a third-place finish in the Mayakoba Golf Classic and sure he will be looking forward to teeing it up this week.

I did tip Lanto Griffin 45/1 – with BetFred – to win at the Houston Open and he has a stunning record so far this year on the wraparound Tour of not finishing outside the Top 20 in all of his six starts. Not many players come out after their first tour win and compete but Lanto’s Top 20 at the Bermuda Championship shows this lad will be one to watch and could be a multiple winner this year.

Outside tip:

It has been a bit of a rollercoaster ride to the new season for Bronson Burgoon 90/1 – with BetFair – with three Top 20s from his five starts but he also has a missed cut as well. Bronson has a Minor Medical Extension with six starts available to earn 33 points and equal Pat Perez at No. 125 on the OOM, if he does that he will then keep his playing card and he will be looking to achieve that this week.

Longer odds:

Try Luke Donald 250/1 – BetFred

As always good luck
