| The PGA Tour arrives in Memphis Tennessee for the FedEx St Jude Classic at the Ron Prichard designed TPC Southwind, which opened as a private members golf club in March 1988. Prichard enlisted the advice of PGA tour players Hubert Green and Fuzzy Zoeller to turn 240 acres of countryside into this stunning track.
The natural lakes and streams are the foundation on which this course has been designed and there are two-grain silos and a windmill that stand as a reminder of the dairy farm that once frequented this site.
One of the course’s signature holes is the par 3 11th hole which is similar to the 17th at TPC Sawgrass where players take aim at an island green 165-yards away. The course record is 61, jointly held by Jay Delsing and Bob Estes.

My tips to Win:
It’s been a long road back for Brooks Koepka 10/1 – with BetVictor – from his wrist injury, but with a US Open championship to defend he will want to do well here this week. Brooks had a runner-up finish a couple of weeks ago at the Forth Worth Invitational and with two Top 5s here from his four starts I think he is the man to beat this week.
Can Daniel Berger 28/1 – with UniBet – become part of a very elite group of winning the same event three years in a row? Daniel has not had the greatest of season and hasn’t really challenged this year with only six Top 25s from fourteen starts, but when someone is trying to achieve something special they can dig deep and I expect the Floridian to be in the thick of it come Sunday.
Another Floridian who seems to enjoy teeing it up at the TPC Southwinds track is Billy Horschel 28/1 – with Bet365 – who has four Top 10 finishes here in his last four starts. Billy has already won this year but did have a run of four missed cuts and also missed the cut at weekend, but I feel he will be challenging again this week.
Each-way tips:
Charl Schwartzel 30/1 – with Bet365 – seems to have been kicked back into shape after playing with compatriot Louis Oosthuizen at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans, since then the South African has been on a run of three Top 10 finishes two of which have been in the Top 5 taking the runner-up spot at The Players. Charl is another player that missed the cut at the Memorial Tournament, but taking the runner-up spot here last year I think he will be back challenging again this week.
It has been a bit of a rollercoaster year for Peter Uihlein 40/1 – with SportingBet – but his game seems to have settled down over the last couple of weeks with two Top 5 finishes from his last three starts. This is Peters first full season on the PGA Tour after spending a lot of his earlier professional career on the European tour, which I feel has given him the game to adapt to all conditions and I don’t think it will be to long before he gets that first PGA Tour victory and I expect to see him challenging again this week.
Outside tip:
I think this tournament has come along just at the right time for Ben Crane 80/1 – with SportingBet – who is a past champion of the event and has several other Top 15 finishes including two Top 10s here. Ben should be in confident mood arriving on the back of a Top 10 finish at Fort Worth and I sure he will be looking forward to being back here.
Longer odds:
Try 2014 winner Fabián Gómez 250/1 – with PaddyPower
As always good luck
