The Tour moves to the TPC Summerlin Club in Las Vegas for the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open.

Designed by Bobby Weed with input from Fuzzy Zoeller, the 7,223-yard opened for play in November 1991 and was built in the heart of Summerlin, a 22,000-acre planned community on the western-most edge of Las Vegas, it incorporates traditional golf design with the natural desert terrain of the region.

As a stadium course, the TPC Summerlin was built to accommodate golfing fans with unrestricted views of tee shots, fairway approaches and putting, by using strategically placed spectator mounds and natural amphitheatres.

My tips to win:

Ending last season with two seventh place finishes Tony Finau 16/1 – with PaddyPower – has continued his good form into the new wraparound season with two Top 11 finishes from his three starts, one a runner-up at the Safeway Open. Tony will be looking to add to his 2016 win at the Puerto Rico Open this week.

Webb Simpson 20/1 – SportingBet – is a past winner of this event and also has a couple of Top 5 finishes here as well. Webb is another player who ended last season well with three Top 10s from five starts and has kept that form going with a Top 20 finish at the Safeway Open. The Shriners Hospitals for Children Open was Simpson’s last PGA Tour win and he would love to emulate that feat again this week.

Another past champion is Kevin Na 40/1 – with SportingBet – and to date it is his only PGA Tour victory – he also has a runner-up finish here. It’s not been Kevin’s strongest start to the year, he has made the cut in each of the three tournaments his teed it up in so far but has not really challenged. I feel being back here may just give him the confidence boost he needs.

My each-way tips

Martin Laird 50/1 – with Ladbrokes – is another player who has won this event and defended his title by taking the runner-up spot the following year losing in a play-off. Martin has only played one event so far on the wraparound season but he did make the Top 20 and will be looking to keep his solid start going this week.

A Top 5 finish at the weekend should see Smylie Kaufman 66/1 – with SportingBet – coming into this week in buoyant mood especially as he won this tournament two years ago in his first full season as a pro. I feel his current form and coming back here make these great odds.

My outside tip:

Another players that should be coming into this week in confident mood is Patton Kizzire 100/1 – with Bet365 – who finished strongly at the Sanderson Farms Championship last weekend, Patton had a runner-up finish here two years ago which was the first time he had teed it up in this event.

For those looking for longer odds, it was strange to see the defending champion Rod Pampling 300/1 – with Coral – this far down the betting odds. Now Rod may not be in the greatest of form but defending champions like to put up a good defence of their title and at these odds I feel he is worth a 50p each-way punt.
