The European tour heads back to mainland Europe for the Saltire Energy Paul Lawrie Match Play at the Bernard Langer designed Golf Resort Bad Griesbach. The Beckenbauer course or as some like to refer to it as the “Kaiser’s playground” – the legendary German sweeper is a frequent visitor here and plays in the annual “Kaiser cup” charity golf tournament.

The course itself is on the flood plains of the River Rott so you can imagine there are a few water hazards about and with a good smattering of bunkers – some of which are blind from the tee – it's a tough track measuring nearly 7,200-yards from the back tees.

The Beckenbauer course is one of six 18-hole layouts at the resort and is rated as the second hardest course here, but if you can avoid the water, bunkers and the wetland areas either side of the fairways here you can score so there should be plenty of birdies this week.
