Designed by Nelson & Haworth Sheshan International Golf Club is the only golf course in Shanghai which is situated near the mountain, it has a change in elevation of more than thirty five feet and is situated in the shadow of the world famous Basilica of our Lady of Sheshan.

Sheshan has a unique forested hillside environment and has been designed around 1000 year old ginkgo trees, a spectacular quarry which dates back over 80 years and beautifully designed Jiangnan style bridges that cross the waterways.

This is the sixth time that the Sheshan Golf Club has held the WGC-HSBC, having already received international awards from the golfing world. In 2009, the Sheshan Golf course was instated at number 68 in Golf Digest’s top course in the world, outside of the US.

My tips to win:

It is certainly going to be a great week for golf fans with Jordan Spieth 17/2 – StanJames – and Rory McIlroy 6/1 – with SportingBet – playing in the same event and although Jordan hasn't played since taking the Tour championship, I think he will be well up for the head-to-head with Rory. For me with Jordan winning five events this year plus four other runners-up finishes, I just think he will just have the edge over McIlroy coming down the stretch.

Bubba Watson 18/1 – Bet365 – first played over this track two years ago and finished inside the Top 10 and he came back last year and won the event, which to me shows how much he enjoys playing here and how the course must suit his eye. Bubba is another multiple winner on the PGA Tour this year and also has three other runners-up finishes and I can see him defending his title this week.

This is the forth week on the spin that I am going to stick with Kevin Na 30/1 – with SkyBet – and with two runners-up and a third place finish from his last four starts and given these odds that he comes in at, Kevin is definitely worth a punt again this week.

My each-way tips:

I think these are great odds for Martin Kaymer 40/1 – with BetFred – he may not be at the top of his game coming into this week, but anyone who has a win and three over Top 10s from five starts on this track can’t be dismissed from the equation. Martin may not be challenging every week but lets not forget when he is on form he can destroy a field, like he did when winning the US Open and it was only a few weeks ago that he had a runner-up finish at the Open D’Italia

Branden Grace 40/1 – with PaddyPower – announced himself on the PGA Tour when he was right in the think of it at Whistling Straits for the USPGA Championship and a Top 20 at last weeks CIMB Classic sees the South African coming into this week in confident mood. Branden has only played in this event once before and although he opened with a round of 77; he recovered well to finish solidly with two rounds in the 60s and I think Grace will show this week how far he has come since he last competed here.

I am going for another each-way tip this week as I just have a feeling about Paul Casey 35/1 – with Bet365 – this week. Casey has a couple of Top 10 finishes here but didn’t play in this event last year and he is someone who thinks that he should be playing in the top events. My problem has always been Casey’s metal ability to compete at this level, he certainly has the game for it and the self belief, but he is not able to let bad breaks go and they seem to effect his play for several holes which ultimately puts him out of the tournament. It is Ryder Cup year and if he wants to make the team, he needs to be winning some big events to get himself in the automatic positions as I think he will once again be over looked for a captains pick.
