The Algarve in Portugal is the next stop on the European Tour and it’s Arnold Palmers Oceanico Victoria Course that sees a strong Ryder Cup presence teeing it up at this beautifully manicured 7,227-yard design.

With Captain Jose Maria Olazabal, Martin Kaymer, Francesco Molinari and vice captains, Thomas Björn, Darren Clarke, Miguel Angel Jiménez and Paul McGinley all competing here this week.

Add last weeks Alfred Dunhill Links Championship winner and winner of two other European Tour events Branden Grace, 3-times major champion Padraig Harrington and a string of other European Tour winners, it will be a very strong field competing at this weeks Portugal Masters.

My tips to Win:

I was surprised to see Martin Kaymer 18/1 teeing it up this week, I thought he would be taking a rest after competing the week after his heroics in the Ryder Cup, but this means I will be sticking with the German this week as I think his game is gradually getting back to where it was and in the warmer climes of the Algarve I think Martin will do well here this week.

Danny Willett 28/1 had his third Top 5 finish last week at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship, his second in his last three tournaments, add in his win at the BMW International Open and it’s shaping up to be the Yorkshireman’s best ever season on tour.

For those of you who follow this betting guide regularly you will know we done pretty well on George Coetzee 20/1 last year, but it seems this year he does well the week after I tip him! But I am hoping George can follow up last weeks Top 5 finish with at least another Top 5 finish if not his maiden European Tour win.

My each-way tips

This is Victor Dubuisson 40/1 third year on tour, which has seen him progress every year so far and last weeks Top 5 finish at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship was his third of the season, add another six Top 25 finishes from the seventeen tournaments he has played and you can Victor now makes the Top 25 in every other tournament he plays in.

Another good finish last week saw Fredrik Andersson-Hed 40/1 notch up another Top 5 finish, his third in his last five tournaments. It looks as though Fredrik has found something in his game to start challenging and hopefully add to his single European Tour win.

My outside tip:

This week I am going to go for a relatively unknown player in Paul Waring 125/1 who won his tour card in 2007, it was a bit of a tough time for the lad from Birkenhead, as his Grandfather who introduced him to the game died in the middle of Tour Qualifying. Paul has had two Top 10 finishes this year and seems to get into some good positions but his final round just lets him down, hopefully if he’s in a good position again this week he can break 70 and move up the leaderboard rather than down.

As always good luck
