Designed by Ben Crenshaw and Bill Coore the plantation course at Kapalua Resort on Maui again plays host to this weeks Hyundai Tournament of Champions. It’s a top quality field as you would expect, with all the competitors having won on last years PGA Tour.

KJ Choi who shot a 62 at the 2003 Mercedes-Benz Championship holds the course record on the Plantation course The golf course features several fantastic ocean views, with steep uphill climbs and downhill approaches which gives the opportunity for some dramatic TV coverage. One hole to watch out for is the par-5 finishing hole, a downhill 663-yard par 5.

My picks to win:

Bryce Moulder 33/1 won his maiden victory last year at the Frys.com Open he also had six other Top 10 finishes. I feel this could be a good season for the lad from Harrison, Arizona.

Keegan Bradley 16/1 certainly got his rookie year off to a bang bagging two wins and in the process his first major at the PGA Championship. He also finished the year well winning two unofficial events.

David Toms 22/1 turns 45 this year and came back into form last year, winning the Crowne Plaza Invitational. He had thirteen Top 25 finishes from 23 starts, seven of those he finished in the Top 10.

My each-way picks:

Sometimes I get the feeling when watching Lucas Glover 33/1 play golf is like watching someone going through rehab, they know they can do it, they know how to do it, but they seem to worry about succeeding. Last year saw Lucas get back in the winners circle, which was his only Top 10 finish, hopefully this is the year Lucas starts to believe in himself again.

Mark Wilson 66/1 got off to a flier last year, winning two of the three opening events, he only made the Top 10 in two other tournaments all season, but he seems to enjoy the early tournaments so look for him to do well here.

Michael Bradley 125/1 is the rank outsider in this limited field, but at these odds he has got to be worth a few quid. He did find some form at the back end of last year finishing in the Top 25 in his last two events.
