The tour now moves on to Singapore for the Co-Sanctioned Barclays Singapore Open. This is the third year the tournament has been co-sanctioned with the Asian Tour and held across two courses at the unique Sentosa GC, where the 204 competitors will play over both the Tanjong and Serapong tracks.

Originally opened back in July 1974 and designed by Frank Pennick, the Sentosa Golf Club has a rich history emerging from Singapore’s independence. The small island was the governments dream to create a tourist destination.

The original Tanjong course was carved out of the lush tropical landscape, where mangrove swamps and kampongs were developed into rolling greens. Over the years golf grew in prominence and with it the Sentosa Golf Club. Ronald Fream was commissioned to design a second course, which is now known as the Serapong course.

My tips to win:

Adam Scott 15/1 is a past winner of this event and is another player that comes into this week in good form, an opening 65 at last weeks WGC HSBC Champions Tournament got him off to a great start and it was only his third round 71 that took him out of contention. But he came back with a final round of 67, so he will be coming into this week tournament in confident mood.

What can you say about
Louis Oosthuizen 10/1 performance last week, he started like a bullet out of a gun firing rounds of 65 and 63 at the WGC, but his final two rounds in the 70s took him back down the leaderboard. I am sure the South African will want to bounce back from that here this week.

It’s been a frustrating year for Padraig Harrrington 25/1, he has been so close to getting back to playing some of his best golf, only for his putter to let him down. But I am sure a few weeks rest and no doubt plenty of work on his putting, will hopefully see Padraig come back with a bang this week.

My each-way tips:

Thorbjørn Olesen 40/1
played well at the WGC HSBC Champions finishing just outside the Top 10, another steady performance from the Dane who has been tipped to achieve great things. Thorbjørn has already won this year at the Sicilian Open and a recent second place finish at the Dunhill Links Championship, shows he is in great form.

Bernd Wiesberger 50/1 finished well last week at the WGC HSBC Champions shooting two 68s in his final two rounds. The Austrian has two wins so far this year and will want to finish the season on a high. After another Top 5 finish at the recent Portugal Masters, Bernd will be full of confidence when he tees it up here this week.

My outside tip:

Is Gaganjeet Bhullar 80/1, who sits in fifth place on the Asian order of merit and performed well in a top quality field at last weeks WGC HSBC Champions. His second and third rounds of 68 and 63 show what the lad is capable of. He has won two events this year and has had six other Top 10 finishes.
