The European Tour moves to India this week and tees up at the Arnold Palmer designed DLF G&CC and one of the highlights of the course is its Golden Eagles that have made this course their home, there is also 41 other varieties of birds.
The undulating course opened for play in 1999 and has water hazards on no less than seven holes, with aqua waiting for any stray shots on all of the final three holes. There is no let up when you get to the greens which have some very interesting complexes and will test the players skills with the flat stick this week.
In 2014 the club acquired some new land and commissioned Gary Player to design nine new holes and redesign nine of the existing Palmer course to come up with a new eighteen-hole layout, which opened for play in October 2015.
The course is designed around two lakes and an old quarry known as the Lake nine and the Quarry nine, it's a tough course from the tips at 7,654 yards featuring an island green on one of the par 3s, it will certainly test every part of your golf game.

My tips to win:
When signing for his final round 74 at the weekend Shubankar Sharma 14/1 with SportingBet once on the plane back to New Deli will reflect on a Top 10 finish in his first WGC event and leading going into the final round. It may not have been the ending he had hoped for, but with two wins already to his name he should be pleased with his progress and a win here should get him into the next WGC event.
Strange how things turn out as it was Anirban Lahiri 14/1 with Bet365 who was a family friend of Sharma family who attracted Shubankar into golf and I am sure they would have enjoyed the flight back home together. Anirban has been playing on the PGA Tour this year and while he started the wraparound season in good form with three Top 15 from his first four starts he has only really challenged the Top 25 once since the new year. Lahiri is a past champion of this event but not on the DLF G&CC track but he does have a runner-up finish and a Top 5 here.
This will be Chris Wood 22/1 with Ladbrokes first look at the DLF G&CC course. Chris started this year slowly in his first three events, missing the cut in all three but he slowly progressed up the leaderboard in each event. He really should have won at the Oman Open but took the runner-up spot and followed that up with a Top 15 at the Qatar Masters. Wood should be in confident mood this week and if the course happens to suit his eye he will certainly be challenging again come Sunday.
My each-way tips
Can SSP Chawrasia 25/1 with Bet365 make it three wins in a row in this event on this course? Lets not forget he also won the Avantha Masters on this track back in 2011 so the course obviously suits his eye. SSP only has one Top 10 from his six starts this year on the European Tour but I am sure he will do all he can to try and create a bit of history here this week.
Scott Jamieson 33/1 with SportingBet had his first Top 10 of the year at last weeks Tshwane Open so he should come into this week in buoyant mood. It has been over five years since the Scot won his first and only title on the European Tour, but he is coming back to a course where he had a Top 5 finish last year and I feel if he is going to challenge again it will be this week.
My outside tip
I was surprised to see Grιgory Havret 90/1 with Bet365 this far down the betting odds having had three Top 15 one of which was a third place finish from his four starts over the DLF G&CC track covering both the Hero Indian Open and Avantha Masters tournaments. Grιgory had a Top 5 finish in his last start at the Qatar Masters and will be looking forward to this week.
Try Jbe Kruger 250/1 with Ladbrokes who won the Avantha Masters on this course and has had three Top 16 finishes from his four starts here.
As always good luck
