With this years US PGA Championship being held at Quail Hollow later in the year the Wells Fargo Championship has been moved to Eagles Point GC which was designed by North Carolina native Tom Fazio back in the late 1990s.

The 7,259-yard course is inspired by the natural setting of North Carolina and meanders through live oaks, sabal palms and the coastal waters of Wilmington. The course offers fantastic views across the saltwater bay and out to the Intracoastal Waterway toward Figure Eight Island.

As you can see there is a slight change this week as all my main picks for this event have all decided to give this week a swerve, with the event moving from Quail Hollow which is hosting the PGA Championship this year to Eagle Point Golf Club. With that in mind there is a slight change with only two picks to win and three each-way tips and of course the outside tip.

My tips to win:

First up is Jon Rahm 12/1 – with Coral – who will be teeing it up for the first time at this event and with a win, runner-up and two other Top 5s from his last seven starts, shows Rahm will be in the thick of it again this week. Jon had a disappointing Masters and I am sure he will come out firing on all cylinders to get back on track this week.

Another runner-up finish at the Zurich Classic should see a confident but determined Kevin Kisner 25/1 – with BetVictor – turn up this week. That runner-up finish was Kevin’s second of the season and with a Top 5 earlier in the season in Hawaii – where he shot a third round 60 – he will be looking to add to his solitary PGA Tour victory with all the top players taking a break this week.

My each-way tips:

Home state boy Webb Simpson 40/1 – with Bwin – will be looking for a good finish in front of family and friends but the last couple of years have seen an inconsistent Simpson and that hasn’t changed this year with a runner-up and two Top 15 finish interspersed with three missed cuts and several finishes outside the Top 50. The reason I am tipping him this week is because of that home state backing.

Another player that has been driving a rollercoaster is Daniel Berger 40/1 – with Bwin – who has had four Top 16 finishes which has been balanced out with four missed cuts. I feel that his fifth place finish at the Shell Houston Open a few weeks ago and finishing just outside the Top 25 in the Masters are a sign of him coming back into form and although he missed the cut at the weekends Zurich Classic that was a team format.

One player who performed well in the team format at the Zurich was JB Holmes 50/1 – with 32Red – who had his first Top 5 of the year. JB has been playing some steady golf and has three Top 25 finishes but last week was the first time he has really challenged in 2017, but now he has had a taste, I feel he could be back in the thick of it again this week.

My outside tip:

I feel playing with Jason Dufner last week may just have been the tonic that Patton Kizzire 150/1 – with 32Red – needed. Patton got his wraparound season off to a great start taking the runner-up spot in the first event but then missed the cut four times in his next five starts. It has been a long way back for the Alabamian but being back in the thick of it last week at the Zurich should give him the confidence he needs when he tees it up here this week.

As always good luck
