After an exciting weekend at the home of the European Tour Wentworth, the tour now heads to Sweden just outside of Malmo and the Ture Bruce designed Barsebäck G&CC which opened for play in 1969.

The Masters course has been consistently voted as Sweden’s number one track and is also recognised as one of the top ten golf courses in Europe. Set within a pinewood forests which gives you a secluded feeling and features well-placed water hazards, one of the best coming at the 160-yard par 3 8th hole that on a clear day has Copenhagen as a backdrop.

My tips to win:

This is Henrik Stenson 11/2 – with Bet365 – home course so he will be the undoubted favourite this week. He is also an honorary member, which was bestowed on him in 2007. Apart from knowing the golf course like the back of his hand he also comes into this week on the back of a Top 5 finish at the weekends BMW PGA Championship.

While Alex Noren 15/2 – with BetFred – will be arriving on cloud 9 following his stunning course record 62 that helped him win the BMW PGA Championship. I don’t normally tip a previous weeks winner and especially one that is playing in front of home support and will have to deal with the Swedish media all week. But the way Alex is playing at the moment and on a course all the Swedish players will know well, I think the home support may just give him the energy he needs to get through the week.

We are so used to seeing Joost Luiten 33/1 – with Coral – challenging that it has been a strange season where he has not had one Top 10 finish yet with his best placing being thirteenth at the Trophée Hassan ll which didn’t draw its strongest field this year. Joost is very much a confidence player and I do feel he is not far from being back in the thick of it again and these are good odds for the Dutchman.

My each-way tips:

No surprise to see Nicolas Colsaerts 50/1 – with Bet365 – odds slashed from the 200/1 I tipped him at for the BMW PGA Championship at the weekend and his third place finish I feel shows the Belgium is starting to get his game back in shape. There have been signs with a 66 and 67 in both China events, but Nicolas will take a lot of encouragement from his final round 65 on Sunday coming to a tournament where he has finished inside the Top 7 twice in the last two years.

As I stated earlier many of the Swedish players will know this track and Peter Hanson 51/1 – with NetBet – finished last week on a high firing a final round 68 that took him inside the Top 25. Peter started the season well with two Top 20s in his first two starts, but had a disastrous Dubai Desert Classic and missed the cut in one of the China events. But a good finish on Sunday and teeing it up in front of home support I think we will see him in one of the final groups come Sunday.

My outside tip:

Another couple of players that you can get decent odds on at the moment are Rikard Karlbert 125/1 – with Ladbrokes – who has a couple of Top 10s here and again being a home player will know the course well. A player that I tipped a couple of weeks ago Oliver Fisher 150/1 – with BetFred – who is just a low final round away from really being in the thick of it at the moment. A bigger outside tip would be Jens Dantorp 250/1 – with SportingBet – who has finished inside the Top 20 twice in the last two years with a Third place finish two years ago.

As always good luck
