This is the third year that the newly re-constructed Backtee Course – which opened in April 2013 following extensive renovations – will host the Made In Denmark tournament.

Designed by Philip Spogárd and constructed by David Nelson, with Per Gundtoft as an advisory consultant, the course is situated in a beautiful part of the country and is located 20 kilometres to the west of Alborg, Europe’s cleanest city.

The course offers some stunning views, but with its wide fairways, it’s a course that is very easy on the eye. The professionals shouldn’t be fooled by its wide open spaces, if you want to score well round this track you need to be in the right part of the fairways to attack the flags.

My tips to win:

Defending champion Thomas Pieters 9/1 – with Ladbrokes – will know doubt be this weeks favourite to win. It has been a tough year for the Belgium he has played well in a couple of the WGC events and also had a forth place finish at the Masters in April and a runner-up in one of the early season regular PGA Tour events but has yet to win on either side of the Atlantic. Who could forget Thomas’s win here last year which cemented his Ryder Cup place, he will have plenty of positive memories from last year, more importantly he has won an event each of his last two years and will want to keep that run going.

The betting odds are not out yet as I am writing this but you can be sure Soren Kjeldsen 14/1 – with BetFred – will be one of the favourites this week. Soren has been playing on the PGA Tour this year and I met him at the Zurich Classic and even though he hadn’t been playing well he was still in a positive mood about his learning process over there. Kjeldsen hasn’t been outside the Top 15 since the inaugural event and was runner-up two years ago and I am sure he has been looking forward to this week.

Bradley Dredge 25/1 – with SportingBet – has a great record in this event with two runner-up finishes and a sixth place since the inception of the event three years ago, firing several 66s along the way and he opened with a 63 last year. Bradley has only had four Top 25 finishes from his fourteen starts this year but I am sure with his record over the Himmerland Golf & Spa Resort track he will be looking forward to this week.

My each way tips

I am going to stick with Paul Dunne 33/1 – with Coral – this week, I must admit I felt he would do well in last weeks match play event but he did at least make it to the last 16 and took that match to three extra holes before he lost. Its been a bit of a rollercoaster year for the Irishman with four Top 13 finishes one of which was a runner-up, but that has been balanced out by four missed cuts. Paul teed it up for the first time here last year and made the Top 10 and will be looking to push on this week.

Another player who has a decent record over the Himmerland Golf & Spa Resort course is David Lipsky 60/1 – with BetFred – and he has progressed every year of the tournaments short history from fifteenth, fourteenth to third so hopefully he keeps that run going this week. David doesn’t come into this week in the greatest of forms with five missed cuts from his last eight starts, but it’s hard to dismiss him with his record on this track.

My outside tips:

Depending how his flight back to Europe from Fiji went Wade Ormsby 125/1 – with Bet365 – should be in buoyant mood after his Top 5 finish at the Fiji International – it could have been a lot better but for a final round 73 after firing a third round 66. Like a few players I have tipped this week Ormsby’s had and up and down seasons with several missed cuts. But Wade has two Top 15 finishes from his last three starts and he may just be turning things round. Ormsby has only teed it up here once before, but to make the trek back over to Europe, shows he fancies his chances this week.

As always good luck
